You’re a lawyer, does separation of church and state ring a bell?

I’m sure the same people pushing for this, would have no problem with Muslims and Buddhists having their own spiritual teachers at school… right?

Separation of church and state needs to be rethought. Churches should not pay taxes. End of story. There is shift in thinking among SCOTUS. Case in point, the school coach who was fired for praying, and was given his job back.

It doesn’t to be rethought. The founding fathers that you guys bow down to, included it in the constitution.

This isn’t a Christian country. We are supposed to be as free FROM your religion, as you are free to choose your religion, and to go to church. To pray in your home.

If this happens, let’s bring in the Muslim prayers, too. And the Buddhist chants, plus the atheists to do their thing. To remind kids that they don’t need to pray to anyone or anything, that it’s their choice.

I don't think it needs to be rethought, teasel is partially right. However, it needs to be understood properly.

Separation of church and state has never prevented state/government organizations such as jails, the army, etc from having Chaplains. In fact, many of them offer chaplains for different kinds of faith.

Similarly for schools, as long as no student is FORCED to deal with chaplains, what seems to be the problem?

Public schools are already allowing therapists whose agenda is to "affirm" gender dysphoria and gender fluidity even with toddlers. Therapists who endorse laws not telling parents that their children are transitioning...These people are not calling themselves religious but this movement is a type of religion whose adherents are usually atheists or satanists.

And by the way, not believing in God is a form of religion. Any belief about God (God exists, God does not exists, God is good, bad, etc) falls under the theme of religion.

Hearing teasel trying to explain the Constitution is rich. Separation of church and state does not mean what you think it does. It basically only means that there will be no state-sponsored religion. What that implies is whatever SCOTUS interprets it to. That is what is being rethought. Should prayer be allowed in schools if it is not compulsory? That does not conflict with the doctrine.
