I'm not sure how much I care about any of this. I'm having trouble caring about much of anything. I used to empathize with people who cheered when I lost some of my rights last year. Who voted rumpy in, in the first place, knowing who he was, after that disgusting first campaign. I remember defending people who were sad when Obama won again, saying they weren't racist. lmao. I'm so over people's BS. The pubbies attempted a coup, and it's been normalized. Conspiracy theories have been normalized, for political reasons. I'm looking for some sort of normal, and I'm in a State where the republicans have a chokehold on us, and are lying to their voters. They're telling them that issue 1 will remove parental rights. They're allowed to keep illegal voting maps this year, there's something going on with education that isn't good. They've allowed gross language on the ballot, for when we vote on abortion rights in November. A four-time indicted man is the frontrunner for the GOP nomination. He proved how dangerous he is, and you're all "Yay! let's do this!" None of this is sane. I remember members of my family saying they didn't trust trump. they trusted Pence. They voted, because he was the VP candidate. Now they just go along with whatever he does. The lack of masks at a funeral, two years ago, when covid was surging. "Oh, I think you know how we feel about things like that" when my dad asked why they weren't wearing them. It's like they're bots. My uncle told my dad that women should just keep their legs together. One aunt told me to just get birth control, and be happy, but your party is going after birth control, too. I saw an online magazine, aimed at conservative women, with an article stating that wives shouldn't say no to their husbands. They should have sex, even if they don't want to. It's like we're going backwards, or your party is trying hard to make us to. So, it's popcorn, and side-eying anyone who thinks this is perfectly normal. IP: Logged |

I'm seriously burnt out. I need to focus on some things offline, but we were driving home earlier, and I was having trouble picturing anything being normal again. I have to see a dentist, but I'm also wondering what the point is. I've just emailed someone, but I hardly ever do that anymore, because what's a normal email conversation now? There are other things I need to do, but if I think about them for even a minute, I start to panic. Whenever I think that things are going to be okay, something else happens. And that's the case for a lot of people, but I don't know how much more I can take. ****** comments here don't bother me, but if someone's kind to me, I cry. I had someone assuming that I have no good relationships, and that isn't true. What is true, is that conspiracy theories have caused problems with some of them. I have a cousin that I love, who added me to a Qanon sort of group, a few years ago. As soon as I realized what it was, I just told them that I joined because of my cousin, but I wasn't into that. Over the years, I've resumed relationships with people like my one remaining aunt in England, my cousins, I'm still in touch with friends from my childhood. I was thinking I don't have anyone right here, but I do. Not just dad's family. One woman offered to get me involved in her art group, in April, and invited me to her art show, but I had vertigo, and couldn't make it. The last time I saw her, was at my mum's funeral. Tell Newt to stand down. Get off his globalist throne. McCarthy broke his promise to obey the law. Try the 'Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974' on for size.
