House Republicans Take Revenge on Democrats for Helping Oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker

4 Oct 2023House Republicans took revenge on their Democrat colleagues for voting with eight Republican lawmakers to oust Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as speaker of the House. Just hours after the House voted Tuesday on the motion to vacate the speakership, House Speaker pro-tempore Patrick McHenry (R-NC) kicked Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) from her Capitol Building hideaway office. A video circulating on X showed Pelosi’s office being vacated just after Republican leadership gave the order. Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD), the second-ranking member of the House Democrat leadership, was also asked to vacate his hideaway office in retaliation on Wednesday. IP: Logged |

It wasn’t the responsibility of the democrats, to do anything to help him. It wasn’t their party. He also gave into the maga crowd from the beginning, and his ousting was built into his finally being selected. They specifically said that one person should be able to call for his removal. He also just went against rules, and said he would impeach Biden without an investigation or vote. Also, political revenge from the republicans? Wow, that’s so shocking. I never would have thought they were capable of that. They’ve always been so calm, and thoughtful. It’s not like their main candidate ran on the promise of locking up his opponent, and creating a database of Muslims in the country, in 2016. It’s not like he tried to overthrow the government, when he didn’t get his way. This really came out of nowhere. IP: Logged |
