So, earlier this year when I was at a wedding in another country, everyone's phone went off simultaneously, blaring like a siren and telling everyone that it's simply a test to warn people of possible nuclear issues, war, or terroism.Fast-forward to a couple months ago, a British friend of mine, while at the airport, he recorded the sound of people's phones going off in a similar way at the airport - a test for possible future issues. And then that leaves me with this month, where some people in my country got the same alert "test" warning of possible nuclear issues or terrorism. This is actually kind of freaking me out, and it seems like we're being primed for something. Has anyone else witnessed this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EU-Alert “As per 11 December 2018, the Council of the European Union has adopted the new Directive on European Electronic Communications Code (EECC). Under the new Directive, all EU member states will also have to set up a public warning system to protect citizens. This system will send alerts to all citizens and visitors mobile phones in a specific area in the event of a natural disaster, terrorist attack or other major emergency in their area. • Extreme threats: Classified as threats to your life and property, like an impending catastrophic weather event (hurricane, tsunami, typhoon, flooding), disease epidemic warnings or terrorist attacks. • Severe threats: Less serious than the extreme threats, these could be the same types of situations, but on a smaller scale — stay safe, but no need to pack up the car and head for the hills. • EU-Amber, Amber alerts: These are specific alerts aimed at locating a missing child. • EU-Info, Public Safety Messages to convey essential, recommended actions that can save lives or property (e.g. emergency shelter locations or a boil water order). • EU-Exercise, Test messages for national/regional/local purposes. We have had the emergency alert system, for decades. It used to interrupt tv shows and movies, because we need it in the event of any emergency. I haven’t seen them, since I got rid of cable, but I promise you, it has been a thing for years. Cell phones are a thing that most people now have. A lot of people got rid of cable, and signed up for streaming services instead. The day after my birthday in 2018, we went to dinner, and everyone’s phones set off an alarm when we got a tornado warning. That’s all that it’s for. Putin has threatened nuclear attacks, when it comes to countries that have supported Ukraine. It makes sense to be alert. IP: Logged |

I wish I could find a clip from Saturday night live, where their news segment said they were issuing an emergency alert, and “if this had been a real emergency, we would have screamed and run out of the building.” It was in the nineties. I’m only finding videos about the phone alert from last week. IP: Logged |

The infamous Emergency Broadcast System alerts began in 1963. You might recall the political situation of the day? Yeah, the cold war. This was a few months after the Cuban Missle Crisis. In other words, its original intent was to clear the airways so the President could quickly, within 10 minutes, alert the nation to incoming nuclear warheads. As that threat eased, it was expanded to include pre written warnings for various weather emergencies. Tornados etc But the original and main purpose was to let you know we were under nuclear attack

My phone went off a few days ago due to some National emergency testing, and it did occur to me that they could use this to force everyone into global lockdown...IP: Logged |

Oh, well, just hope it's nothing major and isn't a sign...It's just it all started happening here the same year, and one person said a few days earlier (before the alarm) they started seeing regular military carriers and jets that never used to pass over their areas. IP: Logged |

You are....in my opinion...right to be suspicious and skeptical of government, any government. IP: Logged | |
