The two BLM rioters who committed first degree arson (a felony), received sentences of $500 each and probation. Dozens of people lost their jobs, and the property damage was in the millions. Not only does that not deter such behavior, but it promotes it in the future. Note: In 2020, that was a fine you could face for breaking Covid lockdown rules. Keeping your own restaurant open should be treated differently than burning someone else’s down to the ground. Contrast that with the vast majority of Jan. 6 defendants who were hunted down for three years (at a huge financial cost) and arrested by FBI agents on misdemeanor charges because of who they voted for. They have been thrown in solitary confinement as political prisoners for months with no bail on misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct charges for merely stepping foot in the Capitol when invited in by Capitol police through open doors and who paraded peacefully within the roped off pathways (invitation is a defense to trespassing, by the way, and invitation can be expressed or implied). And we are supposed to believe there is no two-tiered justice system? According to research by The Guardian, most of the George Floyd rioters had their charges dropped. Check out this quote: “I’m sure a lot of J6 protesters would love to pay $500 and go home. If only they had burned down a building, maybe.” Rep Mike Collins, Dec. 4, 2023
