Biden...and his handlers are terrified to put Biden in front of a live audience. Terrified to have JFK Jr. on the same stage because even JFK Jr will make Biden look like the demented, dementia riddled fool he is. Terrified of any setting where an objective press will report what he actually said.

As for Trump, Trump knows he'll be debating Biden and the far left loon moderators. Trump knows it's not fair and that the whole bunch of them are over-matched.
