CNN moderators played it straight down the middle tonight.
I'm surprised but they did a good job.Now, democraps are trying to figure out a way to get Joe Biden off the democrat ticket. Biden was simply a mess...on steroids. This debate could very seriously hurt vulnerable Democrat down-ticket candidates like Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Jon Tester (D-MT) among others: For vulnerable Dems who have been trying to distance from Biden, tonight was a disaster "It’s a shame this debate didn’t happen during a Democratic primary. Last night's display of senility was not good for Biden and demoralized the base. Was this a set up to replace him? Quite possibly... Anyway, the power brokers have to appease the base and they are going to get Biden off the ticket, and have Kamala Harris seeking the presidency. She will face off Trump in the September 10 debate. She is not the best debater, but she can hold her own in a debate, and her running for presidency will guarantee the black women vote. Her running mate will most likely be Newsome. LONG POST WARNING: Yes. Biden never said the words "Trump said Nazis are 'very fine people.'" The larger argument is twofold: 1. Did Trump say those words? He did not. 2. Did the media report it accurately? To my knowledge, they did.
ON THE OTHER HAND, Trump absolutely DID condemn Nazis and white supremacists after his "very fine people" remark, referring (I assume to the small number of non-affiliated people attending the permitted event to protest the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue. The problem is the permit was for the white supremacists. So when Trump says, as he did: "" I will tell you something. I watched those very closely -- much more closely than you people watched it. And you have -- you had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that, but I’ll say it right now. You had a group -- you had a group on the other side that came charging in, without a permit, and they were very, very violent." So when he's comparing the people without a permit (the left) to the people WITH the permit (the white supremacists), he's siding with the permitted folks. In other words, the white supremacists and nazis. It's also important to look at Trump's remarks in the larger context. Conclusion, NO: Trump never said "Nazis are very fine people." But he did VERY little to disabuse people of the idea that he thought they might be. IP: Logged |

Dear, we have already spent ample time in this forum debunking the Charlottesville thing and the way the democrats have lied and mischaracterized what Trump said. You can hate Trump all you want, but fair is fair. 2 years ago, I spent about 1 hour with a friend of mine, a self proclaim progressist and Trump hater and when I showed him the evidence, which was undeniable, even he changed his mind on the issue though he still hates Trump. There were fine people on both sides—protesting for preserving history and protesting for tearing down statues. The so-called Nazis (who teasel loves when they are pro-Palestine) entered peacefully. Then ANTIFA started violence (also who teasel loves). The very fine people were the pro and the anti statues protesters. Even Snopes confirmed this.
