From what I read, the US spends the most $ per pupil (after Luxembourg) but test scores have not improved and we score lower than
students of other countries that spend less. That is unacceptable!

I truly don't know if the answer is to dismantle the Department of Education, but something should have been done to hold the people in charge of education accountable, instead of the same o same o. But nothing was done to fix problems. So now you get a radical like Trump that says eff it!
