So what? If Dems are going to support something that 90 percent of the electorate do not, then it should be brought up during the election. IP: Logged |

lol i mean that's how **** works isn't it? you use what you can to gain leverage and power and garner people for your cause. all sides do it, it's naive to think otherwise. democrats also regularly engage in manipulative appeals to the emotions to gain leverage, this is the nature of the game. it would do you well to learn to see both sides of the coin are the same in these ways. the moral outrage at someone in power doing what it takes to gain power and influence and control people is misguided. if you're outraged by it being done by one party then power in and of itself should disgust you because this is the way everyone gains it. it's necessary too, if you are putting yourself as a person meant to lead (and people want leaders the vast majority of the time, they crave someone asserting a will similar to theirs over the masses and like the relative safety of being controlled when and where it benefits them) then you arguably believe in your ability to do so and have faith in the calls you're making as being "correct" (regardless of who they actually benefit) but you can't wield power over the masses if the masses don't find your control palatable beyond what you could crush them into if need be. appeals to emotions work, they provide a passionate source of support that's necessary to move forward. people pave the way for power to be held over them, and it's easier if the majority are willing. that's why all sides play on emotions. this is no different than crying "think of the children" when talking about stripping away the right to guns etc. you prefer emotional appeals from sources you like that strike the chords that are pleasant to your ears is all.
