I too feel deeply for loved ones lost to AIDS and other diseases. I worked in research for year and then in epidemiology tracking all infectious disease outbreaks (including STD's- now called STI's). It is very sad to see the destruction that could have been prevented by people using precautions and people not being moral enough to look out for their partners (cheating spouses / significant others).

My brother lost a best friend when they were in the early 20's to AIDS. The young man (a family friend) had contracted it while using injectible steroid and getting into some terrible situations with dealers / dirty needles. It was heartbreaking.

Yeah it's awful when someone you trust, gives you a disease. Compounds the betrayal 10fold. I mean they didn't even care about you enough to look out for your health. My friend and her husband divorced over it.

I don't think I could forgive someone who not only cheated on me, and then on top of that, gave me an STI! I think that's more than I am capable of.
