And in celebration of Black Friday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0IyAAOmwx4 For those of you outside the United States...that's pretty much what it's like. (Actually, there is some real life inspiration for that trailer...) IP: Logged |

^^ It's true that Black Friday comes from U.S. - but, since it's a marketing gimmick that proved to be quite efficient - in the upcoming years - was adopted all over the world. The only difference: in U.S. Black Friday is tied to Thanksgiving Day - a tradition that takes place the day after. While in other parts of the world - there's no Thanksgiving Day. It's all about Friday. Thus, it's organized on a random Friday - "even more times a year". Around this parts for example - we had at least 5 Black Fridays this year (from beginning of the year and up to this point). And all of therm where organized on random Fridays - based on the internal agenda of a certain store. Also, many stores moved their business online (especially the ones that sell electronic products) - and since most sells were done online (a practical and efficient approach) - there was no room for hassle - as it goes with live sells (a primitive approach for 2014 - if we're to talk about electronics or packed products). I guess it depends on promotions - cause when it comes to buying clothes, even though there are plenty of stores that sell clothes online - there's still not advanced enough - to beat the experience of buying a clothing product live - while trying it out first. In this case the live choice leads to better results. Quite the opposite of buying a certain device - where you can get more info about it online. Oh... and we don't have guns here - so... yeah.

From another thread (wishing to respond here to avoid derailing the other): quote: Originally posted by Lei_Kuei: Just this morning I was dreaming of being trapped in a sort of mountain compound, and unless our whole group converted to a certain religion they were going to send in a death squad to murder everyone who refused to leave the retreat and the time/era setting seemed very modern day.The orders to convert where being dished out by robed Jedi looking priests and only about 10 of us remained on the mountain, but I actually wanted to leave because I knew this was going to be a death sentence if I stayed as we were completely unarmed. Anyways the non-converters where mostly just sitting around waiting to die but I was determined to escape, and so walking around on my own as I could hear the death-squad mercenaries breaking in I scoped a Black Van parked near a wall. I was filled with a desire to survive and so unleashed a primal scream that literally seemed to cause the dream world to vibrate, then while raising my hands in the air and clenching my fists like Magneto from Xmen the Black Van crinkled up like a soda can and burst into flames! Once this happened I started to gain control of the dream/reality... I started just using psychokinesis/telekinesis to lift cars and other vehicles into the air and fling them with such force that I was busting down all of the walls of our compound causing all the tear gas they shot in to start evaporating. My lucidity then went from dream control to... OK, I'm actually dreaming and not in any danger... lets just wake up lol! Too bad I guess, was about to fry everyone with force-lightning The moral of this story is, don't ever try to convert me to some weird religion [Nods]

Rofl! Mrs Brown is very typical of Irish humor, her logic+wit to make those Mormons freak out was pretty epic! She would have been very welcome in our mountain retreat, and most likely have saved me from having to go all Palpatine on that death-squad as she would have probably destroyed their faith in 10mins without lifting a finger and saved our sanctuary ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;} IP: Logged |
