Undoubtedly, it's not my intention to join in on AG's usual "woe is me, women are awful" bemoaning. Merely pointing out that if one is on a dating site, one probably should be single. Though my cynical side does think (somewhat) that women and men in relationships do post profiles just as a confidence boost that they still have a dating market value. This is one of a host of reasons why I avoid such sites, that and I have no problems finding dates if I wanted them atm. Just to me, one is putting yourself out there w/no idea who is REALLY on the other side of the screen To quote honey brown "Ain't nobody got time for that", and imo, neither should AG Strictly my .02 cents IP: Logged |

Padre, You ever get that crap where old women refuse to get into an elevator with you? (I'm assuming you are Latin). I'm dressed in a very expensive business suit and polished shoes. I carry impeccable manners. They are scared. Meanwhile some punk with torn jeans and a baseball cap backwards blasting metal is just familiar and comfortable. Well, this gender sexist sh1t is more of the same sh1t. Like scared of me? GTFO IP: Logged |

Weird, I've found women generally trust a man in a suit. And no, I'm not Latin, though oddly enough do get asked it fairly often. Have one "those" faces that people just seem to remember in a friendly way even though I've never met them in my life. Think it is a vague resemblance to Val Kilmer but w/dark hair and blue, not brown eyes. In all seriousness was working maintanence at a motel and going to college when a guy literally walks up and asks: "Hey don't I know you? "No IDK you" "Have you ever been to CA?" "Uhm, no" "I'm agent so and so with the ATF" Whips out his badge, parking lot fills with cars...this agent truly believed I was this fugitive from CA! Cuts both ways I guess IP: Logged |

I don't give a sh *t if you believe me or not. You are the one who thought sand was a nice guy even though he openly bragged about being a sociopath and acted as such . So you obviously aren't a very good judge of character.

YTA - quote: The funny thing is that he likes the general description of Libras, which are the antithesis of who he is. I would venture to say that he's incompatible with the fuzzy equivocating diplomatic type.
LOL I know. He should date Aries girls. Aqua guy - quote: I found out what was going on. I looked her up on Facebook and she has a boyfriend. LoL she was yanking my chains the whole time.
O_O Well you're better of without her. Faith - I don't think he's lying because it's very easy to look someone up on FB, and people born in the 90s have way too much information public. They often set their relationship status to public because they think it's something to show off with. quote:
It cracks me up how harsh you people can get. She said "idk" So crucify her.
The thing is.. it's not easy to ask someone out. Everyone in the world gets nervous before they ask someone else out, specially if they really like that person. So - saying just "idk" is very dismissive in this context. Maybe it's my Pisces Mercury but I would be nicer just because I know that the guy would be extra nervous about my answer. IP: Logged |

In the dating scene dignity and self respect is something people can't take away from you unless you allow them to. When you're desperate and hungry for love and affection you have a flashing sign over your heads that says USE ME-ABUSE ME. It's not an attractive sign either, it repels most people. So you HAVE to play the game correctly. This is our world... People who horrible things to each other. Frankly that girl wanting to seek extra attention is not such a big deal compared to other travesties. Wise up :/ IP: Logged |

Kero - quote: When you're desperate and hungry for love
Being honest is not "desperate"... and frankly every person is more or less... just as desperate as every other person. There is no reason to bs about it. If a person actually lives with the impression that other people are robots who have no problems in life, who don't need love/affection, who don't desire sex, who don't want understanding --- then this person has zero psychological know-how. quote: a flashing sign over your heads that says USE ME-ABUSE ME.
IMO There is no sign that a 'victim' can wear over their head.. that would justify abusive behaviour in any context. If someone is abusive - they have their own issues.. and it has little connection with anything the victim has done. IP: Logged |

Uhm I'm not talking about this particular situation... What about the 100's of other situations we have heard of...If someone shows interest in you, idk how you can **** it up so bad. Sometimes I don't he tells us the whole story. He makes it seem like they are cruel evil people, maybe he said or did something to turn them off... Frankly it does not even matter what he said because she already in a relationship. Though it would of been wise to ask directly with out all the other stuff IP: Logged |

@OdetteI think he's lying because of how he is, not because of how the 90's generation is. @aquaguy So what if I liked sand? I'm not responsible for all his comments. I like you, too, even though you spew this misogynist crap all the time. I like a lot of people who aren't perfect. Judge me for that all you like, but YOU have friends in low places too.

I'll take a page from YTA's book and be blunt:Two things at work here imo: -AG is making the mistake of thinking women think like men when it comes to romance, that his ideals are the female ideal, this is why he hits brick walls constantly. psst AG, women are not men with breasts, things are different for them and for us. To me thinking that women think like men when it comes to relationships or even dating is misogyny (IMO) -Women tend to defend other women out of hand, like a reflexive action, especially when confronted by a man (IMO) IP: Logged |

Really? o_O The Va jay jay - sisterhood... ? lol I don't see it. I mean some men and some women might always take the side of the people who are of the same gender. I guess they over-identify with they genitalia. I didn't think anyone replying to aqua - was doing this though ^. IP: Logged |

Well, what struck me is AG was being fairly soundly hammered for being direct with this online woman, mostly by women. Fair enough AG drops the FB 'she has a BF" and guess what is still happening? Granted not by as many female forumites, yet it still happened. Some doubted such a FB page existed etc, which tbh, IDK (and don't care if it does) it still struck me that if true, the woman was clearly wrong for being a dating site and just trying to garner attention. As fair as I try to be, that is beyond the pale and should be called out. Put it this way, if a man had done that, and thread went something like "oh this guy is such a liar, I met him online and we talked, he seemed great, THEN I found out he was married" etc etc I can see the reaction to that scenario from here. Nailed it . That's what I have been saying forever! If a girl came on here and posted everything I have ever posted about my troubles with girls (except in this case they would be talking about guy troubles) the response would be completely different. They would be met with sympathy and understanding but since I'm a guy I'm automatically a misogynist. Lol IP: Logged |
