I think everyone has the right to be who ever they want to be, that includes sexual preference. As long as its not hurting anyone.

Live and let live is what I believe.

What I don't get is people argue this freedom of choice - fine. Choose it... Be it. Whatever.

Why is it always thrown in our faces then? And I don't mean about rights etc.
I know some gay people, I like them, but why does it need to be announced constantly? I don't run around making some big stink about how I'm straight.

If you're gay just be gay and be gay in peace. I don't need to know about it on a daily basis. Once I know then I don't need to be reminded. I won't forget.

I agree but it's insulting to those who don't wish to hear about it or see it. Go be gay at home or in private. Sexual preference shouldn't be publicly broadcasted like it is now.

Uh no I'm black and my soon to be husband is white. Race does not matter to me and has nothing to do with this.

Hardly a minority group.

You never fail to take the opportunity to announce how you like both even when it's completely uncalled for.
That's what I'm talking about.
Are you bi? Then be bi... I don't care. We all know but we dont need daily reminders or your attempt to get attention with all if these "shock" tactics with your ridiculous posts.
Just be bi...

We know this like 500 times already.

If it's relevant to a thread... Cool. You bring it up out of no where so you can shock us all and get your attention.

Mabe people feel they see it everywhere, but if someone wants to cover themselves with peanut butter and go and howl at the moon, by all means knock yourself out...as long as I don't have to be there lol.

People are going to believe and do whatever they want, no sense arguing in my opinion.

but we see almost the SAME thing with a lot of straight people too. we see it in the guys that talk about how many chicks they bang, we see it in lines at dunkin donuts guys tlaking about how they like each others shirts and then say NO HOMO as if to assume that liking a shirt is now somehow gay?
i think we see it more in straight people than in gay people! lol

Asking about synastry.
There's a gay member here who does the same. He doesn't just announce it. He asks about his s.o.
That's the difference

Because they are straight. I don't think it's fair either but hey it is what it is. What a person likes sexually just shouldn't be a public matter. We live in a Christian/religious nation whether people like to believe it or not.

I really don't see why people think they have the right to judge other people's sexual preference. I know so many gay people with judgmental parents who hide their sexuality for fear they will be disowned. These parents are hurting their children, and they don't even know it!

I mean COME ON, it's not like anyone would choose to be gay if they didn't have to be, it's just that much harder. Who wants to be discriminated against? No one! But they don't have a choice. They can't turn any more straight than you guys can turn gay. I think the debate of whether they were born that way or not is useless as well, most know it as they enter puberty because that is when children discover the real difference between boys and girls. Who cares how it happened? If you're not gay it's not your business and you can stay out of it.

I don't wish it on my children (when I have them) to be gay, just like I don't wish for them to have glasses or a learning disability or a big nose. It's just harder because of judgmental and ignorant people like some of the people commenting on this thread. But if my children DO turn out to be gay I will celebrate them and their individuality, and I will love them just the same.

I'm also entitled to my choice of if I wish to express it.
I felt it left me open for attack and I also am entitled to pick my battles.

I choose not to have this one.

No big deal.

I'd sure like to know who these ignorant judgemental people that are commenting on this thread are. Who judged anyone here? Everybody stated their opinion on it and you have nuisances like Kero who didn't like them and started spewing his ignorance at us. We all have our opinion on it, if you(people) don't like it then people should just ignore it.

If anyone has kids who might be gay, I urge them to see this before they try to "treat it as a choice" as doing so might save his or her life:

Funny, I'm gay and mix with gays and I don't see that everywhere. Very few are anything like that. You wouldn't have a clue that most people who are gay are gay because they act just like everyone else (that includes gay men being just like other men as opposed to some fashioned obsessed "sissy" bad at sports that many imagine most gay men are like). That is, people (who happen to be gay) in real life, not on TV where everyone (gay and otherwise) is over the top dramatic (either written that way or ignored if they're not that way).

I didn't choose. I'm not crazy religious like some people but I am religious. I believe in God and am very equipped with teachings of the Bible. I am a woman who likes men because that's how I was made just like everyone else. Going against what is natural is a choice. I will love my children regardless of whatever is that they choose to do in life. That does not mean that I will accept those things if I feel they are wrong. I will do whatever I can to help them understand what's right and what's wrong.
