Telling them it's a choice and that they're messed up for it. That YT I linked to that you didn't watch is just one of many reasons. I could list many more. One was a boy who came very close to killing himself because he figured his mother would prefer a dead son to a gay son and only another gay man at college with him saved his life. At least in his case he learned that his mother did still love him. Please, think of your possible children over your religious beliefs. Just because it's religious doesn't mean it's right. You didn't answer the question, you evaded it. I know you don't want to, but PLEASE think about it before you inflict suffering on an innocent child. Kids (and older) are dying because of people holding views like yours, and it inflicts other suffering as well on adults because they're denied marriage (and thus are only considered "roommates" in the eyes of the law with no rights of hospital visitation even when dying among many other things). Religion doesn't excuse cruelty. Religion is a choice, not sexual orientation. And plenty who are religious do accept homosexuality. It's just like how many now ignore the parts of the Bible that support slavery or stoning disobedient children or that women must cover their heads and not speak in church. To all those who think being gay is a choice, let me ask you this... When you see someone and feel attracted to them, is it because you chose to feel attracted to them? No, it isn't... Attraction is just there... It is not something you can control.. I used to be against gay people and when my good friend came out of the closet i was freaked out. But he opened my eyes when he confronted me and asked "do you choose to feel attracted to the girls you are attracted to?" And of course my answer was no and I had a whole new perspective on the whole issue. Homosexuality is just there... And bible thumping or gay to straight programs wont change that. And in all reality I wish I was gay! I do not get a long with women and they hate me and treat me like crap.. But I'm "Not" attracted to men at all, I'm only attracted to women so i'm stuck. But if i could choose to force myself to be gay i would in a hearbeat. That shoots the "being gay is a choice" argument all to hell.IP: Logged |

It is a choice in my opinion. You don't deny that it's unnatural correct? Two people of the same sex will never be able to have their own children ever. It's just not possible, it's not how we are made. We were made to create and fill the earth. How can you do so with a woman if your a woman? Or a man with a man? If my child were to kill itself then I'd feel like an even bigger failure. It's all in how you raise your children and I will the way that I choose. If they kill themselves then they do so. Nothing that I can do about but try to prevent it. IP: Logged |

Nature has an elimination plan. Food chain... Lack of food... Disease. Nature doesn't need homosexuality to control its population. Plus for example when dogs do it, it's not a sexual act. It's an act of dominance

Its funny to me when people criticize gays for "throwing their sexuality" in peoples faces. The average Straight person does that all the time? People are always bragging about their partner and posting pics on facebook and dont even get me started on PDA.

I agree with this. Besides, if I was gay or a man I would marry my best friend in a heartbeat. Unfortunately if I was either gay or a man I may still not be attracted to her. What a headache. You just can't choose who you fall in love with :-) IP: Logged |

I don't understand why you care so much if a few people, and a few animals, are gay. It makes no difference. Your fact that male and female create a child is irrelevant and implies that if an animal could be gay then there would be no offspring, yet like with humans only a few are (or conversely that bisexuality is very popular among them, such as bonobos).
