I prefer golden/bronzed skin. I find it beautiful and majestic, it reminds me of the sun. In Ancient Egypt golden skin was considered godly.

Light, dark, any race;
makes absolutely no difference to me.
However I will burn if in sun more than 15 minutes and NEVER TAN.
Red hair, green gold eyes, freckles.
I am also on prescription D of 10,000 IUs a day because my body does not get it any other way.
The normal dose is
only 600 or so IUs a day.
Blood tests prove my deficiency.
I do not absorb it from food and unable to from sun.
My skin is droopy from over 150 pound weight loss;
but as for wrinkles from sun exposure/aging;
even going on to nigh on to 6 decades old;
I am virtually wrinkle free.

I think I prefer naturally tan over tans lighter people acquire from the sun (even though I know sun tans are natural. I guess I am typing about genetic tans as opposed to tans helped by the sun or a tanning bed.)
Natural tans are nice.

If it's natural... it's not a tan.

I like tan, and being tan. I'm tan already and it's just been a few warm days where I live. I will sit in the sun with a blanket if its chilly because it lifts my mood considerably.

My rheumatologist told me to use a tanning bed in the winter time. Very very low doses though... I have low vitamin D and I can't take enough supplements. Also because it helps people with joint problems. The heat feels good on them. I haven't been to a tanning bed in years. I have nothing against them, I just don't like the color they turn a person. It's too orange-y.

Is this still an astro question? If so...
I have no clue what makes a person like tans vs. not like them. I would imagine this falls under the sort of thing that forms our ideas of beautiful/handsome. Like at some point in your growth and development you saw or knew someone with a tan and they looked really good to you, so it sort of sticks?
I remember my Dad and his friends used to go to Florida for weeks every summer and they would come back so tan. We're Italian, so they got very dark. I was a little girl then, and I thought they were all so healthy looking and handsome. I guess it just stuck!
