Parents are just people...and some kids make more sense to them than others. I know families who, while loving all their kids equally, just find one kid easier to understand/interact with...and sometimes they put the most energy into the ones that dont seem to be able to take care of business as well as the others.

My own mother was also a stepmother and took a lot of resentment from her stepchildren who never knew our mutual father wouldn't let her make any decisions about them because they "weren't her children..." so she was constantly checking herself and they felt her frustration and assumed it was antagonism towards them...

If only relationships were simple...♡

It would be interesting to see what in my chart causes this or if it's just typical Leo behavior.

I kind of just want to cut the majority of them off.

I should say also that there's things beyond just this BTW. Oh well. It's kind of stressful but that's why I feel like pushing them out.

I hear you DF, it takes a lot of growing to get to grips with family stuff. I lost my dad suddenly and young, and it took a chance (intentionally cruel) remark from someone 10 yrs later to resolve the anger and guilt I had towards him. I put 3000 miles between myself and parents for decades lol...fortunately tho my mom and I had ups and downs one day I was gifted the vision - insight - that she was a dying old lady and let go of ALL remaining resentment and was able to have a few years of truly healed time with her. Those two things really turned my worldview around more than most of the rest of my longish life...

You make a lot of sense too tho you are at a different milestone on your road

My mom favors me, but she still loves my two brothers. I'm just there for her more.

All is well again but I still don't talk to my "step mom" or a couple aunts. Don't plan on it so that essentially means... "normal". lol
