No, it is the music itself that made me happy...the Keith pieces were from 88/9 when major changes were going on in my life, an exciting but not happy period. That is what "Struggle" is all about...nonresistance and flow and choosing love over hate... the others' lyrics are practically irrelevant tho "scuse me while I kiss the sky" is to me an expression of defiant jubilation that resonates especially when life/people seem to be conspiring to hold one's feet on the ground (or to the fire?)IP: Logged |

^ I think this last full moon happened right on my Jupiter and I've been weirdly lucky since yesterday.... One stroke of luck was stumbling upon this song... You Don't Know ...at a time when it exactly fit my mood. That happens to me so rarely (!): finding a song that hits the spot, right when I need it. IP: Logged |

^^ Whatever works! This morning's theme...as my house is literally enveloped in a thick fog...so I am living inside a cloud...something poignantly cynical: The Lovers by Arctic Monkeys

Are you trying to say you don't vibe to this?? Lol, only one person I know likes them, "if he's really drunk" but IDC the less people like them, the more opportunities for me to be a groupie. It definitely heals my soul & revitalizes like kombucha. But I like Arctic Monkeys too. If it's that kinda day, I think anything by Portishead will make it better..

Thank you- great minds think alike! I had checked that...and looked at about fifteen Portishead videos before finding the full Dummy album. The first two songs there sound familiar, though it's been ages since I listened: Mysterons and especially Sour Times. But I'm clicking through and finding other familiar spots, like It Could Be Sweet and Wandering Star. I used to smoke pot with some friends who, I'm just now realizing this with clarity, were putting this whole Dummy album on after we smoked. But I think the song I was hearing the most overall in those days-- like at parties and in my friends' mix tapes-- was Sour Times: "Nobody loves me, it's true-- not like you do." IP: Logged |

This forum has been dead lately so I can self-bump in good conscience. Anyone else have Riptide on constant replay while playing on the internets lately? Cuz I do. IP: Logged |

I'm probably going to be extremely out of place here, but when happy I love anything with a good beat. conversely, if I am sad, it has to have meaningful or deep lyrics.(Good mood) Derogatory words aside, I love music from the Caribbean and Africa. They definitely get me dancing and in the mood to party. (Sad mood) Alternatively, I like artists like Adele, Ben Howard, Josh Recodd and the Crystal Fighters. I love all kinds of music though tbh. They have all played a part in my journey. IP: Logged |
