Care to share what are you listening to lately? And talk about how it matches what you are cultivating within yourself...or dealing with? For the past week I've been riding the waves with the song Satellite. It's a good blend of nostalgic, emotional, but coping and just moving along. As I've been saying on other threads, this past full moon was trying to tear me to pieces, but I didn't let it. #SaturnNeverDies How about you, what tunes hit the spot now? IP: Logged |

I don't want to share any, but as whole I listen to Dance/Electronica/house/etc etc. All music of those relation. I prefer the darker sounding music. Rap also, for the beats and rhythms. The lyrics are ridiculous but they're in such a rhythm usually that I can sort of "blend" them in. The reason that I like it is that I'm free. I don't look for nor want a song that I connect with, in the way that people connect with a rock song or something. I need my imagination to just go nuts and to release that darker side also. Many times it actually somehow calms, or distracts some abstract and busy part of my mind so that I can actually THINK. Or, if I want to go with it, I can daydream either about violence if I'm angry, or little purple floating flowers or whatever I want!! That's what I love about it.

I listen to electronic music most of the time, even when I feel like crap. It strokes my brain the right way and makes me feel better unless it happens to have depressive lyrics.I've been addicted to this track for the last 2 days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYnVeOxtOeE I like to imagine a bizzare shroom party music video to it ------------------ I'm sooo happy! Thanks for the replies and music! @DF: Interesting ~ my Gem moon daughter says she thinks more clearly with music in the background, too. I'm starting to believe her...it's difficult to relate, when I'm the complete opposite. @cappy: Cool...it starts out so melodic, I was thinking..."Is this the 'gentle' cappy I never met???" but then it gets hardcore soon enough. @Pixie: Amazing story...thank you for it. Lots to think about there ~ how self-realizations can come out through music, like having music lead the way... Happy that you are safe now. @Juni: Gotta look it up on YouTube. I love you hippies but never could understand the music too well. Just a line here or there. Shoulda smoked more pot when I could. @Ceri: ROTFL...but I LOVE the songs in English! Pardon me for being biased that way. "Mine" was written for you, right? Right. @Ellyn: Thank you, that was a beautiful song and touching video. Reminds me a little bit of Where do the children play? Lol While I strangely identify with the lyrics quite a bit, it is actually a song written by a Christian singer, David Phelps. However it seems we both equally love this song. Well, he said it nad wrote it and the fact he is playing it on nearly every concert speaks for it as well. And me? Well when I first heard it, I felt "zapped". It`s an amazing song and the intensity comes even across on cd. Though having said that, I have never heard Phelps sing it to be honest. I know only this version. IP: Logged |

Honestly:Music + Distance Running= Therapy on Steroids! I listen to everything and anything under the sun. For me it is more about the lyrics and general energy of the song. It also depends on what I'm doing, because obviously if I'm writing a huge paper I need to listen to the gangsta rap to get my flow going. IP: Logged |

@Bella~ Sighhhh you make me want to get in shape. I can probably run a quarter mile, far enough to hear one really, really long song. @Milly~ Never heard that before, but I like it and can relate. Hope we both get a break soon. @Panthera~ WOW. Thanks, that gives us a good picture of where you're coming from, musically. This Stevie Nicks video is transporting me back to the 80's...groovy days of white pants and perms, even on men. IP: Logged |

That first song's actually kinda pretty. Darkly pretty. I disembarked from the second one once the vocals came in.Oh and I forgot to comment on your emo songs....I listened to the first one, felt like I wandered into a spooky cave or Halloween exhibit by accident, and darted outta there speedy quick. But lemme listen to this second song...wow, that's great...if you're a vampire. Now I have to listen to this to try and recover. Whew! And self-medicate with emoticons like Seriously, Jupiter Aries opposing Pluto doesn't let me do goth/violence/horror movie soundtrack music. I might listen to heavy music as long as there's a ray of hope, uplifting subtheme. IP: Logged |
