Hey T! A musical need just leapt into my heart, to hear Piano Man. Searched YouTube for a suitable video and found this.... Piano Man with All Star Cast Featuring Kevin Spacey on harmonica!!! Volume way up high.... LOL I don't think they all can sing as well as Billy Joel but the intentions are good...

Faith That was fun! And Kevin Spacey can sing and plays harmonica?! Who knew! I happen to think these two songs are two of the prettiest ever written (just checked to make sure & yeah he wrote them). Just the Way You Are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaA3YZ6QdJU She's Always a Woman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI3MwwWYC3Q What a talent.

@Aquacheeka ~ Thanks, I've meant to check him out for a while, but always forget! That song didn't appeal to me straight away...but I clicked on Faith and like this one plenty. No seriously....I totally relate. @T! I'm very stupid about the Grateful Dead and had no idea they sang this song (that I recognize and am listening to now ) I was singing "She's Always a Woman" to myself earlier...will listen after this.. ETA: Oh these songs are so good!!! Better to listen on purpose and with attention than hear them over the radio at a restaurant or something... If only he could've protected his music from being overplayed. IP: Logged |

Thanks for that teasel, brings back good memories. I love that song, but had never heard the collaboration before. the version I know - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4T9aG8XAE8 and one i couldn't help but notice on the side.... for Faith ~ the Elvis version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wipPRxEXAPY quote: Elvis Presley versionElvis Presley recorded the song on May 26, 1966 during a session for his album How Great Thou Art. The song originally appeared as a bonus track on the Spinout movie soundtrack album. Dylan once said that Presley's cover of the song was "the one recording I treasure the most."[4] According to Ernst Jorgensen's' book Elvis Presley: A Life In Music - The Complete Recording Sessions, Presley first heard the song via Charlie McCoy, who had previously participated in the Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde sessions. McCoy played the 1965 Odetta album Odetta Sings Dylan before an Elvis session and Presley "had become taken with 'Tomorrow Is A Long Time.'" Dylan has said that this was his favorite cover of any of his songs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomorrow_Is_a_Long_Time
Tomorrow Is A Long Time If today was not an endless highway If tonight was not a crooked trail If tomorrow wasn’t such a long time Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin’ Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin’ Only if she was lyin’ by me Then I’d lie in my bed once again I can’t see my reflection in the waters I can’t speak the sounds that show no pain I can’t hear the echo of my footsteps Or can’t remember the sound of my own name Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin’ Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin’ Only if she was lyin’ by me Then I’d lie in my bed once again There’s beauty in the silver, singin’ river There’s beauty in the sunrise in the sky But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty That I remember in my true love’s eyes Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin’ Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin’ Only if she was lyin’ by me Then I’d lie in my bed once again IP: Logged |

What a pretty song! His voice is so soothing and so....spirit lifting...? I've always liked Elvis a lot...now want to add some of his music to my music collection. Actually surprised I don't have any Elvis on there yet. quote: I've often said the same thing about Elvis, that he was "a man of sorrows" and many of his songs can only be heard when you're sad. I became a serious fan while my father was dying...'felt like Elvis could follow me to the lowest places.
Many of the classic singer/songwriters have a way of doing that for me too. IP: Logged |

Love this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnRqgF028es Yael Naim - Dream In My Head I got a seed in my hand Just looking for a way Just looking for a way To grow strong I cross the water I cross the land I let all the people Leave me blind I search for answers Wanting to find A way to reveal what lies we hide I have the strongest feeling that I should try I got to know myself, now I could cry This is the end of pretending now I know why I have to prove myself , no longer try to hide I've got a story to tell Just waiting for the day Just waiting for the day To be told I got this anger and pain Just waiting for my shame Just for waiting for my blame To get old I saw some children playing with guns I can't believe what we've become I found some letter written by god They where signed with our own blood I have this strongest feeling that I decide I got to know myself, now I could die This is the end of my wait and maybe to lie I might prove myself , but no longer need to hide So I might prove myself I no longer no longer need to hide I have this strongest feeling that I decide I've come to know me better, now I could die This is the end of the wait and maybe to lie I might lose myself , I no longer need no longer need , no longer need to hide I no longer need to hide

Oooh wow! I absolutely LOVE this! Never heard of her before, thank you for the introduction! !!! Definitely going to be listening to more. eta: just noticed your last post - I'm not sure if i've seen that one. Who was it? I like Kim and especially how she ties it all up at the end and gives a bigger picture about why the haunting happened - how it relates to that person's life or a lesson they need to learn. I can't remember his name - Anthony Michael Hall? he walked off the set, but came back, and was more polite than he had been. And Faith: thanks for something you said last night. I meant to say that to a couple of other people, as well. IP: Logged |
