'Course many divorce lawyers (not mentioned here) are probably restraining themselves (barely) from handing the happy newlyweds their cards.

Though in all honesty, it's amazing how the crudest forms of capitalism have invaded everything, not just weddings. There was a thread in another LL forum about new age masters and such who charged hundreds of dollars on luxury boats to tell people to be less materialistic and more focused on the divine (with their high priced goods and services). And the sweatshops (some with children forced to work in them) putting out Che Guevara gear is just sad.

Ah well, Halloween has been dwindling around me for years, in part because of rumor panics. I do hope that capitalism can at least save Halloween.

There are a whole bunch of those "Honest Ads" about why nearly everything is a scam. It's brilliant and funny, at least those I've seen. I think my favorite one was deconstructed the pharmaceutical industry, and when a rival corporation moves in to peddle their pills, the old guy in fancy suit pulls out a knife with a a hiss and shouts, "This is (my corporation)'s turf, ************ !"
