Bacchus in Leo IN 4TH conjunct IC/SN opposite MC/NN tight within 0.5-1 orb conjunct Mercury sq MarsI wouldn't only associate or reduce Bacchus/Dionysus to just his orgies/Bacchanalia. His character stands out in a different way that some of the more prominent Greek/roman gods. He was one of the few gods that could not only enter the underworld but also resurrect the deceased. Bacchus/Dionysus was also a student of Chiron and Rhea/Cybele which adds a considerable amount of depth to him. IP: Logged |

He was also associated with the King/ basileus in the Sacred Marriage ritual. His own sacred Marriage was to Ariadne.Death and resurrection is a central motive in his rites. In this way he is sometimes compared to the Osiris-myth. IP: Logged |

...Why am I still not convinced? lmao Maybe it's because people worshipped or showed support by having orgies...that kinda discredits Bacchus for me. IP: Logged |

My Bacchus and Dionysus are both in Capricorn. Bacchus is in the 4th and conjuncts Uranus and Dionysus is in the 5th and conjuncts Sun and Neptune. I don't even booze, not to mention promiscuity. Am I doomed to go wild though? ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

What would Bacchus square Sun and Bacchus trine Venus mean in a natal chart? He's one of my favorites in Greek Mythology. IP: Logged |

I have a soft spot for the God Bacchus (Dionysus), not only because his wine, music and ecstatic dance symbolizes freedom from self-conscious fear and care, and subverts the oppressive restraints of the powerful.... but also because he represents the "lover who remains true after a false lover has abandoned you". I am saying this because if you look at his myth in connection with Ariadne - you will discover that Ariadne had fallen in love with Theseus and was also the driving force behind his success in defeating the minotaur, but Theseus had betrayed her and abandoned her on an island afterwards when she was no longer useful to him. What an ingratiate! His hero status is very dubious in my eyes. Anyway, Bacchus (Dionysus) finds Ariadne and recognizes her true value and falls in love with her and marries her - after death she is raised to take her place with the Gods beside Bacchus in Olympus and her marriage diadem becomes the heavenly constellation "Corona Borealis". Bacchus therefore can also represent "enduring love found after love lost" in addition to all of his hedonistic, fertility, regenerative, opulent, liberating, theatrical qualities. IP: Logged |

I have Bacchus in house 4th conjunt Psyche in Aries point (exact) and loosely conjunct Venus (3°). I think Psyche and house 4th help me to keep Bacchus under control, because i´m very selective in sexual encounters. But i'm addicted to smoking and I can't quit that nasty habit. But really, I think Psyche take off some power of Bacchus in my natal chart IP: Logged |
