In synastry...I think Adonis doesn't signify "ideal man," exactly...asteroid-wise, something like Valentine would signify that the person meets a romantic ideal.

I think Adonis signifies "really hot, physically beautiful man"...so big Adonis contacts in synastry would mean finding the person beautiful, physically. (I think this might play out even if the person was not conventionally good-looking--it would mean you would really like the way he looks, like looking at him, like the look of his body.) Not sure how this works across the genders though.

Adonis-Aphrodite, Adonis-Venus, Adonis-Proserpena and Adonis-Persephone contacts would work the same way as other pairs like Eros-Psyche. I'm not sure how important any of these are or if they're meaningful...definitely they are irrelevent compared to major planetary contacts.

Lucia23, major planetary contacts will always be the top priority, although it seems to me that asteroid pairs, when coming into contact with each other in synastry, specially (tight) conjunction/opposition, is still meaningful in some way.

Interesting, interesting. There's definitely some kind of correlation between Sun-Adonis or ASC-Adonis and pretty model boys, though. DD, are you around? We should check this in celebrity charts...

Hmmmm.. My Adonis is in 2nd house Cancer, very odd. Although, maybe not. My son's father (who shares a rising sign with me) has Cancer Moon in his 2nd house that's directly conjunct my Adonis- I was attracted to him immediately and always felt he would probably make pretty babies. He drove (and drives) me batty, but he's certainly got it going on.

Our son's Cancer Sun is conjunct my Adonis and his father's moon, and he looks a lot like his father.

I would interpret Adonis is reflecting what you find beautiful in a man.

South Node conjunction would reflect a beauty that is familiar from the past and maybe something that draws you in in this lifetime that you need to move away from. It could be that it's the person's beauty that draws you in so that you can re-connect and do what needs to be done and then move on, or it could be that what you found beautiful, you will find in this lifetime that you are moving away from and onto what you need or do find beautiful this time round.

Keep in mind that I'm certainly no expert astrologer, and that very much a beginner when it comes to asteroids, but that's how I read and feel it.

I thought about it. I think Adonis on your ASC indicates that the man you find most desirable is the one you consider an ideal partner in crime. You want a companion with you as you meet life. Since it's in Sag, you'd want him to join you in an approach that's open-minded, adventurous, and fun-loving. The emphasis being on "joins you"; you really want him by your side, not just someone you can tell your experiences to later.

Your Aqua Sun alone shows that friendship is important to you. This aspect specifies the type of friendship with a man that sexually excites you.

Or not. Since it's your chart, you have the final say on its meaning, I guess.

As far as Aphrodite goes, I have that exactly cnj Saturn. This reiterates my Venus in Capricorn. I have felt the need to restrict my love nature, to reserve it for those Adonis types I discussed before.

I'm honored to have chart similarities with you.

Aphrodite in the 6th could indicate that you like to care for your partner, that you feel like you're getting your sexy on when you make his life better. It's in Aries, right? That could also show that part of your appeal/part of what makes you feel appealing is being an independent woman in your daily life. So combining the 6th and Aries influences, I'd guess you help your partner (and like to be helped in return) in a way that empowers you as individuals.

eve- you got it sister! your assessment makes total sense to me. life is a gosh darn adventure and to share that with a man on the same wavelength, well shucks, that is the ultimate turn on! my ex and i had composite sun and neptune at 24/25 sag and that spirit of adventureness was constantly present with us, even though due to circumstances we were homebound, and our thing was pretty quiet, gentle and routine. but somehow it had that exciting spark of the pure thrill of life and potential at the same time. i really did feel like he was my partner in crime, even if we were both incarcerated, at the time, by our own individual blocks to such freedom that we both crave. and yeah, turned on by this, big time.

By the way, in synastry, there seems to be a nice attraction when Adonis and Aphrodite comes into contact. With Adonis/Persephone aspect, it seems there's attraction too, but not as much as Adonis/Aphrodite (it might actually show unrequited love too, as Persephone is attracted to Adonis but Adonis not as much).

Amowls, I really think 4 degree asteroid aspects can be felt with a DW.

I've noticed this in all synastry, actually...if there's a wider-orbed double whammy, I think it balances out the synastry and makes it feel more mutual.

my very attractive ex bf has aphrodite and adonis conjunct his mars in scorpios...wow

my very "pretty" guy friend also has aphrodite/adonis conjunction in scorpio.

and three of the girls i know who strikes me as very attractive all have aphrodite trine their sun, where as the girl who has aphrodite/adonis conjunct doesn't really strike me as pretty but she spends a lot of effort with make up and such nonetheless.

I have Adonis(lol thats my effing cousin's name XD, so creepy and he's a Sag) in Scorpio in the 10th house sextile my Sun and square my Saturn and Chiron.

Aphrodite is in Scorpio in the 10th house sextile Uranus, it makes quintiles to Venus and Jupiter and squares Chiron.

I really can't say much, I look like an it O.o and yes I am more concerned about a career then I am a relationship lol. I feel if I have no career then whats the point of having a relationship?

See, that confirms my belief in astrology because I don't find that type of connection a turn on! It gives me a huge buzz of joy and warmth, but I don't find it arousing. One of the things I love about astrology is that it helps me get out of my head and see different ways of experiencing reality, ways that don't come naturally to me.

Your Sag Venus probably plays a big part in you being attracted to that type of relationship. Where's your Aphrodite in your tropical?

yup, i hear you! cuz the more i think about it, the more i realize *that* quality really turns me on. i'm sure my venus in sag accounts for it too. or, strengthens it.

what the heck is tropical? natal? i may be brilliant, but i'm kinda dumb. in natal, my aphrodite is 9 cancer in my 7th. my man and i broke up a couple of months ago but are still close and i still love him, even though i'm simultaneously letting go and all that. but anyway, it conjuncts his MC and pallas and my draco AC (all three 6 cancer) and our composite NN (13 cancer). makes no really noteworthy aspects in my natal other than a couple of sextiles. so i'm not too clear on its role for me.

Hmm, natally, I have Aphrodite in Virgo in the 8th house trine both my ascendant and neptune and square chiron. Why do I get the feeling this means my appearance will be used against me? Anyone have any ideas?

My adonis is also in Virgo in the 9th house square mars and trine my moon.

I will say this... I have a guy friend who is incredibly good looking. Model good looking. His Adonis is sextile his Venus exact. It semi-sextiles his Sun to 1 degree. It squares his Neptune as well.

Funny story... He came with me and a group of friends to the club. He ran off after some girl. He came back after a little while to tell me about the craziness that ensued and why he came back (I won't go into those details).

In any case, the first thing he says to me is: "She said I could be a model!!! I'm not a model!!!" and then he pulled his hat down practically over his eyes. This is when I discovered that it's very hard to be an introvert and also be ridiculously ridiculously good looking.
