Where is your Terpsichore and has it played a big part in your life? Do you enjoy dancing? Do you dance well? TERPSICHORE: In Greek mythology, Terpsichore (play /tərpˈsɪkəriː/; Τερψιχόρη "delight in dancing" was one of the nine Muses, ruling over dance and the dramatic chorus. She lends her name to the word "terpsichorean" which means "of or relating to dance". She is usually depicted sitting down, holding a lyre, accompanying the dancers' choirs with her music. She is sometimes said to be the mother of the Sirens by Achelous. Her name comes from the Greek words τέρπω ("delight") and χoρός ("dance"). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terpsichore

My friend is a semi-professional dancer and dance-teacher.She has TERPSICHORE in 13 Leo conjunct Saturn, included in a Grand Trine with Moon on 15 Aries and Neptune on 11 Sagittarius. It also sextiles her stellium of Venus/Mars/Pluto on 11Libra (yes same degree) in 5th house. IP: Logged |

I like the Sabian of my TERPSICHORE A Nature Sprit Dancing In The Iridescent Mist Of A Waterfall It sextiles VALENTINE in SCorpio in 12th house, and while I am not a dancer myself, I really enjoy and admire other people dance. Interestingly it is also conjunct my Anubis. Not sure what to make of this though. lol

81 Terpsichore is at 13 Sco 2'37" in mine, on the 12th house cusp and roughly conjunct Uranus (12 Sco 47'38").Interestingly enough, it's also conjunct 5180 Ohno, which according to http://markandrewholmes.com/ohno.html , pretty much is what it is ("Oh no", horror, denial). Also conjunct 10041 Parkinson (Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders (including mental illness); working under a handicap.) I don't really dance, especially not the typical nightclub fare (though I have gotten into it at a few raves (mostly at anime conventions, and the last one I kept bumping into people ), and a couple times when I went to a goth nightclub as well with some college friends. And I can be a bit of a klutz at times and on occasion loose my balance lol. (When I was a little leaner, though, I seemed to move more fluidly and not as prone to losing balance... trying to get back down to that point again and see if that comes back). The 12th house placement kinda throws me though. IP: Logged |

Black Seraph,I never looked up OHNO before. Turns up in 13 Sagittarius in my 1st house, over 3 degrees off my Neptune and NN. But I donīt think the conjunction is still valid. But it`s exactly conjunct someone elses Venus and the first time I saw him, I was thinking "Oh No, please, no!" (in the way you know Karma is about to strike and you really do not feel ready for it. ). lol

I have this 21 deg in Aries house 11I danced through out my childhood. I sang, act, and danced growing up. Dance was kind of my weakest out of the 3. I got really good around age 14 when I went to a christian dance studio, that was just strict enough...and they showed me how to use my gangly long arms in a graceful controlled way. Ballet and tap is what I'm best at...and the hip hop stuff not so much. I do miss dance. My mom went with grandma a few weeks ago to see a ballet my old studio was doing. I would of went with but I had this auction thing I had to go to for work. But I got on the phone with my grandma and we talked about the ballet. She told me that she misses seeing me dance. I told her that I did too, and how maybe I'll get in classes again cause it's fun and good excersize and my grandma chimed in. "and you'll loose some weight" lmfao Yeah when I quit dancing I gained like 20 pounds. Last year I took an aerobic dance class at community college and man that was so easy. lol I need an excuse to take more dance classes. My aspects with Terpsichore are conjunct Sun trine Mars IP: Logged |

I love dancing I'm not sure if I'm good at it, but it's definetely something that I love. I have Terpsichore in Sagittarius in the first house, tightly sextile my sun, semi-square my Uranus, trine Vesta and trine Arachne. I read that Arachne represents great talent that attracts great attention and jealously from others. But I dont think anyone has been jealous of my dancing at all IP: Logged |

I looked up a few keywords for Arachne (#407): "Keywords: Illusions, Patterns, Skill, Knots, Complications, Destiny, Fate, Growth, Entrapment, Spinning, Wisdom, Expansion, Possibilities, Magic, Death, Sex, Weaving, Predator, Invisible, Extreme talents, jealousy regards talents, harsh competition, clashes with authority, ignoring instincts for survival, need to take time for more facts to be revealed, weaving a difficult web with boastful words" Mythology: "In the ancient Roman world, Arachne was a talented weaving artist, who had amazing skills and ego to match. Minerva, (the Greek equivalent of Pallas Athena), the patron of the weaving arts, was annoyed with Arachne for refusing to acknowledge that she received much of her talents from the Goddess herself. Disguised as an old woman, Minerva warned Arachne that she should respect the Gods, to which Arachne tilted her head back and laughed, scoffing at the concept. She then went on to tell the disguised old busy body that there should be a contest, a true decider of who was the most talented weaveress of them all. The crinkled old woman, flapped her cape a few times and morphed into the Goddess Minerva. The crowd gasped and the spinning contest began. Minerva chose a war theme, of her victory over Poseidon, whereas the cheeky Arachne chose to depict a theme of the Gods and Goddesses rampant and lax, sexual natures. Furious, not only at the chosen subject matter but at the pure beauty and perfection that was Arachnefs work, Minerva lost the plot. In a flurry of temper, Minerva destroyed the loom and struck Arachne on the head, slashing at her in a jealousy fuelled frenzy. Demanding that Arachne bow before the Goddess, Arachne refused and opted to hang herself, rather than do the bidding of one she held in such low esteem. Eventually, Minerva took pity on the dangling form of Arachne and loosened the rope, where she thus morphed into a spider and the myth lives on to this day. The only celebrities that I've found with an aspect with Arachne so far, is Marilyn Monroe with Arachne conjunct Aphrodite and Maria Callas with Arachne conjunct Euterpe IP: Logged |

I occasionally see people rhythmically drumming or tapping their fingers on a desk or laptop and I am trying to see, what asteroid is responsible for this? Do you think this could be Terpsichore? I think it might be something else as its not quite dance related, but more about rhythmic musical information. Does anyone have any ideas?IP: Logged |

I have this asteroid on my Ascendant (2 degrees 40 minutes orb, I think it counts as a loose conjunction) and I really enjoy dancing. I don't know what other people think of me dancing since I always dance to music alone, but I love dancing anyway :)IP: Logged |

I dance. I go to a dance school. It is a core need to express myself and dancing is one of the ways to explode the volcano under the flavour of a 6th house in Taurus (didn't mention it in another thread about 6th house placements, as it is rather known for employment, responsibility, health but above all how we deal with changes).I have the Muse Terpsichore, dancing so lightly that her feet don't even touch the ground, in Taurus sextile Sun inconjuct Pluto. I have a very keen sense of rhythm and love moving my body to music... but I don't think I'm much of a dancer. I dislike most ordered forms of dancing, when there is a set choreography or i have to synchronize with others. I just want to instinctively move to music.I have Terpsichore at 27°48' Virgo, towards the end of my 12th house. Not really aspecting anything. Sextile True Black Moon Lilith and tightly conjunct my Mercury/Saturn midpoint, but that's about it. Only notable asteroid it conjuncts is Sisyphus. IP: Logged | |
