ive recently found out i have asteroid Hekate conjunct pluto in scorpio.
as a heavy scorpio, im already, by nature, interested in occult matters, which i do study.
interesting thing is that Hekate is one of the Goddesses i work with, and i have
recently found about the Hekate conjunction in my natal chart. coincidence?
im not sure whether it is my heavy scorpio or my Hekate conjunction that leads to my
interest in these subjects. anybody else have anything similar and interested in trance work, ecstatic paths, magic, and so on? on the idea of becoming 'wiser'? also, the conjunction is in the 6th house, does this mean im geared to use my abilities
to help others?
there is a history in my family (both sides) of people being involved in these subjects and using this to help others and the community. discuss!
ETA: although Hekate is depicted as being associated with the moon and witchcraft and, as an old woman (a very Neopagan misconception)...in ancient texts, Hekate had a strong role as being a guardian of the home and hearth. And, as a messenger, a road opener. Liminal. Chthonic.
it is possible that she became associated with the most unsavory aspects of witchcraft and magic, and, as a dangerous/fearful entity because Hekate's origin may be Asia Minor. thus, there may have been a distrust toward her from the general populace and philosophers, for being an entity from foreign lands.
she is a maiden, again, not an old woman or a crone (Neopagan misconception).
she is NOT a triple Goddess, another Neopagan misconception. if anything, the statues that depict her with three faces are like that of Janus, an entity that can see/guard all sides. of course, it could be an association with the three realms, the number three and, the crossroads, she is associated with T-shape crossroads. most of the statues/images depict her as a maiden with just one regular face, holding two torches, lighting the way.
and, for those who are interested in Hekate as a cosmic soul, i recommend reading everything about the Chaldean Oracles.
Hekate was given a share of power over the three realms (sky, land and water) by Zeus.

went further....i have, medea conjunct neptune in the 8th house - capricorn
circe and merlin conjunct- 5th house (virgo)
and lucifer in the 5th house too...
i dont think that the circe/merlin placement matters much, it is just sitting there in that 5th house..
doing nothing. but, the medea one is interesting, medea has always been one of my favorite plays...
and, she is the daughter or priestess of Hekate. IP: Logged |

There are a few different interpretations of certain Goddesses/sorceresses/witches in the natal chart. Prominence of these figures if you believe in past lives, a past life being involved in the occult, magick etc. Another interpretation is they represent your maternal line (your mother ancestors) being involved in the occult and in some cases I believe medicine since before science, superstition and magick were used for healing purposes.A number of women who have played Witches in modern day cinema/film/tv have prominent "witchy" aspects in there natal charts. I have natal hekate conjunct chiron in 6th house Taurus. Never had a good grasp on the interpretation of this one..not into occult stuff but study astrology. I have Native American blood in me which might explain the tie to a maternal line ancestory medicine woman type of thing.IP: Logged |

Healing yourself and others comes through using occult, magic or even just things like alternative healing practices....energy healing, meditation, reiki, or homeopathic medicines.
Society calls these taboo, but that only shows how unenlightened they are, these things potentially will help you heal.
In 6th house, helping others heal through these methods will lead to personal healing!

Wow. My Hekate is exactly on my 12th house cusp in Leo. It conjuncts Jupiter, squares Pluto, opposites Vertex and trines Lilith.I do want to become wiser  ------------------

Hmmm....since she sits on your anti-vertex what she represents is very much a part of your souls need to express, conjunct Jupiter means what she represents will bring good things to you. 12th house and in leo, this drive to express is somewhat burried in your subconscious, but its dying to be able to shine. You might have to work through some subconscious issues to get to express yourself in this way, but when you allow it to flow your going to feel right at home with the energy! IP: Logged |

Personally I love the 12th house, my moon is there....it was hard accepting my emotions but once I worked through a lot of stuff I'd buried....now I thinknmynemotions are one of the strongest things about me. whats in your 12th house potentially holds a lot of power. Glad it wasn't
