My hypothesis on her is that she symbolizes passionate longing, refined through creativity. However hers is not a longing like that of one medieval troubadour, who is simply content with dreaming of his beloved, but Sappho`s longing is, though refined and creative, very much wanting to consummate that passion with her beloved.

(and then, either before, after or during write poetry about the intensity of consummation I guess ).

Anyway, if my hypothesis is right, I expect her to figure strongly in synastries of passionate relationships/ affairs, and possibly of people who have been working together in the creative field, actors, singers, poets and the like.

She must've recently progressed to something that 'matters', though.

Natally, she's in late Cancer. Not much happening there, outside of a loose trine to my Moon; exact trine to my Moon/Mars MP. Meh.

It's kinda the same with his, too. Though I can definitely feel it hitting my NNode, (it's loose; 4 orb). It also weakly squares my Eros and Mercury; trine Valentine/Erato.

I'll say it's definitely interesting that it's hugging the MC of our composite with Psyche/Madhatter.

Wait ...

My Sappho IS doing something; it's exactly parallel his NNode! So, that's kind of a peculiar almost double-whammy, as his Sappho is on my NNode.

I begin taking parallels/ contraparallels REALLY seriously, if they are under 1 degree orb they seem to be quite active.

While I think the conjunctions/ oppositions and parallels/ contraparallels are them ost significant, I could not help but notice that in these celebrity synastries th square to Neptune cropped up sometimes. No clue what that means though.

All three actors that were really doing my head in had their Sappho conjunct my Moon - I mean can that be a coincidence?

In Mr Sag`s case, the conjunction is on the wide side (3°38)

It seems in synastry she is often aligned with Mercury, if the people are involved in writing/ creating together, especially in the charts of singers (like the Cashs, Mc Cartneys) or poets (like the Brownings).

I have that in my natal actually Sappho, on 22 Libra in 10th house, sitting right on my DNA (and a bunch of other asteroids), opposite Chiron, and squaring Eros/Vertex/Pan/Destinn and on the other side squaring Arthur/Gawain and of course is activating my Sun/Moon-mp, too.

Synastrically, his Sappho falls into my 2nd house, my Sappho falls into his 7th house.

But my own thoughts, what is it with the musing about the words?

For all it is worth, this is pretty much what poured out of me on the brink between the years.

"The Words

Don`t even ask me what i was trying to express. lol

Or, well, that strange piece I wrote, after a show in june. I have to translate it, but the imagery was suddenly there, and I havenīt been thinking in imagery for a very long time. It all comes to the surface again now.

"Like a ship in a storm, at churning sea.
A wave hits, submerging it under water; resurfacing it bursts asunder.
Only planks in the raging wind.

I am lost.
I know it.
He knows it.
I am doomed to drown.
Yet desperately clinging to brittle planks.
Just barely keeping my head over water,
well aware of the decaying wood crumbling beneath my hands.

Looking up at him.
My eyes imploring ,
pleading for mercy.
"Help me! Save me!
Spare me! Let me escape!"

He stays cool,
remaining silent.
He is watching, watches
the remaining wood dissipate.

The last I see,

Yeah, well, to be honest, after I was waking up from writing this little piece I was more than a little crept out about what i had been written there.

I guess maybe that is where my Sappho comes into play, trying to find words, somehow, to describe, so I can grasp it.
But the words, like the feeling, elude me somehow.
