Ambrosia, food of the Gods, in astrology could represent never going hungry on your spiritual journey.Perhaps those with strong placement would have access and ability to absorb sustenance from God Source, providing a path to immortal existence. Feeding from spiritual sustenance for soul's growth. I imagine it could bring healing and cleansing powers. --- I never studied this asteroid, but I can make suggestions on how to figure out the meaning of any asteroid. The way to identify the meaning of a new asteroid would be to locate those who have an exact conjunction to the Ascendent or Sun in their charts. These two points, the AC and Sun will show themes in a person's chart. When an asteroid is conjunct either of these two, the theme will be relevant in their life. A database can be started with these exact conjunctions along with a record of the person's life experience in relation to the suggested meaning of the asteroid. Compiling a large database will give a basis from which to compare. Later, include charts with tight orbs to the AC and Sun and compare their life experience to the findings based on the exact conjunction charts. Finally, once a basic understanding is found, add in the charts of those with prominent degrees, aspects or conjunctions to other planets. --- So far I have not found any charts in my system with an exact conjunction to the AC or Sun, so I can only speculate to the meaning. After doing a quick internet search on the name Ambrosia, I did find some possible keywords: immortality, sustenance, masculine/feminine integration and balance, healing force, purity, power, development freedom, knowledge, unity of controversies, absorption and transmutation of God nature within us. That could be a starting point. IP: Logged |

This will help to identify how significant the orbs really are for each individual asteroid. Each one may be different based on the combinations in the analysis. Use this information to set up expand your study to different aspects and qualifiers in a chart. IP: Logged |

Ambrosia is similar in meaning to a spiritual asteroid Soma, its Vedic counterpart. In my chart Ambrosia is at 22 degrees, in common with nearly all kundalini asteroids, conjunct Saturn, sextile Soma.In addition to its meaning as a drink which conferred an ecstatic state, Soma is also part of the term Somaskanda. Somaskanda refers to an image of Shiva, Parvati with the child Skanda. "Soma Skanda is the result of the union of two potent opposite forces giving rebirth to the aspirant as an evolved being. This is best described in mythology as the union of Shiva and Parvati resulting in the birth of Soma Skanda and hence results in immortality." I have these placements in Scorpio: Hygeia 21 Hara 21.4 Saturn 21.11 Kleopatra 21.14 Union 21.42 Ambrosia 22.11 St. Michael 22.22 Sextile these in Capricorn: Soma 21.32 Anand 22.15 - (spiritual bliss) Mahakala 22°21 It seems that Ambrosia could indicate the means to an evolved spiritual state (if not exactly immortality), or of feeling cleansed or healed. If in aspect to a planet, it could mean that the qualities for that planet have the potential to bring about a catharsis, a healing or progress in one's evolution. Its conjunction to Saturn hopefully means one is fated to reach an evolved state or be cleansed of afflictions (fingers crossed). IP: Logged |

thanks, good correlation with Soma. Asteroid Soma is number 2815. A drink made from a plant, not honey yet there is an explanation for this, I read in another forum post:"The sahasrara chakra is the spiritual center at the crown of the head where advanced yogis focus during meditation. According to the tradition, soma, (divine nectar) begins to flow in deep states of meditation and produces a state of bliss. Soma is an inner expression of the energy of consciousness itself—intensely blissful and evoked through one-focused attention, not through ingesting external substances. In India there’s an esoteric form of spiritual practice called Madhu yoga (“the yoga of honey”)in which the yogi connects with the supreme inner sweetness. They say that when kundalini begins to flow there’s a buzzing sound in the inner ear very much like the sound of a swarm of bees. And when this sound arises deep in meditation, it means you’re approaching the thousand-petaled lotus at the crown of the subtle body, which overflows with soma. The inner knowledge and intense rapture experienced here is the brimming energy of Self-awareness." There is also a lengthy description of asteroid Soma on tribe.net --- Soma is 2 degrees conjunct my NN and Ambrosia is exact square to my Sun and sextile Chiron-Venus conjunction. IP: Logged |

In his 2005 book Amanita Muscaria; Herb of Immortality Donald E. Teeter has expanded upon Wasson's work and extends Soma to include other Indo-European ritual foods and drink. These include: Haoma, Ambrosia, Nectar the Wine of Dionysus, the Christian Holy Host, and communion wine, among others.Teeter also proposes and experimentally tests a mechanism for the reported uses and ceremonies associated with these rituals, as well as accounting for the mechanism of the Holy grail and similar bountiful religious artifacts mentioned in historical references. Teeter records success with his use of Amanita muscaria and his experiments to duplicate the described occurrences surrounding the production, use and effects described for Soma and the Grail.[20] IP: Logged |

So transit Northnode has been conjuncting my Ambrosia exact lately. I find the northnode is a good way to get a feel for an asteroid.....The feeling I am getting from it is that of "life is sweet" and "gratitude." Perhaps were this asteroid touches it gives this feeling of feeling "complete" and "whole." With this asteroid conjunct Tr NN I look at my past with gratitude for all the memories I have created while I feel centered in the present and glad to be alive, this sense of seeing the bigger picture and feeling connected to everything. Natally my Ambrosia conjuncts my Venus conjunct Mars and squares my Psyche, I would say that people always think I look a lot younger for my age.I do strongly believe that Love is forever, immortal, that real love cannot be destroyed and transcends this earthly dimension. IP: Logged |

Ambrosia is the nectar of immortality or food of the Gods given to Psyche so she can be immortal and be with Eros truly freely after Psyche has overcome all the trials and tribulations that Goddess Aphrodite made her go through to proof she deserves to be with Eros....Once Psyche overcomes all the trials and tribulations she then reaches that point in her personal growth and evolution were she feels whole on her own and only then is she worthy of becoming a "goddess" herself and therefor becoming immortal like Eros to be with Eros. I think Ambrosia in the chart symbolizes that we feel complete and whole on our own, that we have reached a higher level in our evolution and now get to reap the rewards of that. It should be interesting to observe how Tr ambrosia activating an Eros conjunct Psyche in synastry would play out... IP: Logged |

In my opinion, Ambrosia is not just "long-life", but also things that last, relationships that could last all life long. You can check this with the charts of some of your close friends, family, if Ambrosia is conjunct the Sun in synastry, or Moon, Venus... Cool asteroidIP: Logged |

You're welcome.. I'm glad it helped. But of course I'm not sure of what I wrote... I said this because of the synastry between me and my mother. She has her Ambrosia conjunct my Sun. So I made the connection between the "long life" thing, with my relationship with her that could last all life long. I know we're faithful to our family but not necessarily me. IP: Logged |
