Sedona is a place in arizona recognized as a vortex for higher energies/dimensions. Thus currently a favourite spot for the new age/spiritual community. It is a natural oasis in comparison to much of arizona...awesomely beautiful but currently in danger of over commercializationIP: Logged |

That's interesting to have on the Asc.Were there ever any Native American Tribes that lived in the area that is now Sedona?

26.13 Sagittarius, on the Galactic centre, conjunct Ariadne-Lust. Industria at 25, Spellman-Eureka (or Heureka, I never remember which way they went) at 27 Sag. Trine Karma and tons more in Leo, 1 trine Chiron. Opposite Horus-Gopalan-Church-Beer-Moriarty-Artemis and whatever there was at 26 Gemini. Have Hopi conjunct the Pleiades and square Sun otherwise. And since like whoever else recently I find it a bother to always have to specifically dig up asteroid numbers for posts about something new, 157064. You're welcome. IP: Logged |

I;m guessing that's the number in Keela's post ^The whole southwest esp "4 corners" area is Hopi and other tribes sacred ground...not that the Euro settlers have troubled themselves about that. So a place of power. But rife with conflict and plenty of dark energies around it too. IP: Logged |

Thanks for helping me out. Also, last night, after 20 years, been dreaming of that damned mountain (cave) again. Well maybe not a total hiatus of 20 years, but have not been dreaming of it for years. Astrologically speaking
SEDONA: 6°08 Sag (conj. POSEIDON, POLYHYMNIA on same degree) "Cupid Knocks At The Door Of A Human Heart" ASC: 7°01 Sag (LUST; WISDOM, ANGEL on same degree) "Within The Depths Of The Earth New Elements Are Being Formed" conjunct ATLANTIS on 8 Sag Neptune on 9 Sag NN on 10 Sag opposing VARUNA 6.08 Gemini FAMA 6.51 Gemini "A Well With Bucket And Rope Under The Shade Of Majestic Trees" HOPI: 16°51 Capricorn "A Repressed Woman Finds A Psychological Release In Nudism"
opposes Saturn on 16°57 Cancer exact "The Unfoldment Of Multilevel Potentialities Issuing From An Original Germ" SOOMANA (2432 or 2433), which is Hopi for "Stargirl"
25°34 Sagittarius in my chart conjunct Sun on 25.56 Sag and Mercury on 25.02 Sag "A Flag Bearer In A Battle" also conjunct a lot of other asteroids like NOFRETETE (25 Sag) CAESAR and ROBINHOOD (26 Sag) REIKI, SEKHMET, CIRCE, TESLA (all on 27 Sag) MERLIN (24 Sag) and so on Who sais SOOMANA (Stargirl), also has to say SOOTYO (Starboy). For me SOOTYO is 10°54 Taurus "A Woman Watering Flowers In Her Garden." Nothing obviously conjunct, but it is on the solstice point of my ATROPOS (unavoidable)- CUPIDO-opposition from 19 Aquarius-Leo. Plus on the Draco Avx and opposing Draco ERos exact. OUCH.
just been thinking to check ARIZONA ARIZONA 20.17 Aries Chiron 20.02 Aries PHOINIX 20.05 Aries opposing DNA 20.20 Libra KASSANDRA 20.20 Libra (I am cursed I guess) also with MUSA on 21 LIbra and SAPPHO on 22 LIbra 20 Aries A Pugilist Enters The Ring 20 Libra A Sunday Crowd Enjoying The Beach interesting interrelations there. Also interesting that Sedona relates to our family karma (Atlantis, Poseidon, Varuna - the family theme is very prominent).
Interestingly my Mum has SEDONA angular as well (On IC and SN exact)
My Dad has it conjunct his NN (now it is getting creepy ) my middle brother, who has the Down syndrome, has SEDONA on 29 Pisces, the very last degree of the zodiac ,and trine his Moon exact. quinkunx NN on 29 Libra exact
my youngest brother has it conjunct KARMA.
Intersting.
our Family composite has SEDONA on 20 Aries conjunct ASC on 22 Aries opposing HOPI-PARSIFAL on 21 Libra on DESC exact

I agree with Catalina's description, except to say that there are many other beautiful places in Arizona (I think more beautiful) that are sacred to one tribe or another. Personally, I think Sedona is a highly overrated tourist trap, and I try to avoid it. Sedona, Arizona was named after an early Caucasian pioneer woman, Sedona (Miller) Schnebly, who was born in Missouri in 1877. Apparently, her mother made up the name Sedona. It is located about 150 miles southwest of the Hopi mesas, where the Hopi have lived for thousands of years. I'm not saying the Hopi never traveled there for one purpose or another, or that their pre-historic ancestors never lived there, but it is not part of their pueblos. The Four Corners area, within the Navajo Reservation, is another 100 to 150 miles northeast of the Hopi mesas, so a total of about 250 to 300 miles from Sedona. The Yavapai-Apache are the closest modern tribe to Sedona. There are more than 20 Indian Tribes in Arizona, all with unique and widely diverse histories and spiritual traditions. The Yavapai-Apache, Hopi, and Navajo are nearly as diverse as German Catholics, American Jews, and Indonesian Muslims. I would not consider Sedona and Hopi all that related, other than that they are both in Arizona. IP: Logged |

Anyone playing with Arizona asteroids may also want to consider Flagstaff, 2118. It is home to the Lowell Observatory, where Pluto and several asteroids (including Soomana and Sootiyo) were discovered. It is also home to the San Francisco peaks, the Sacred Mountain(s) of both the Navajo and Hopi.IP: Logged |

Yes the mesas are far more significant to the hopi today but I believe they had a presence in the sedona area too...the "4 corners" is an amazingly rich area energetically and historically. I havent been to sedona nor wish too until the trendiness wears thin.Lester Levenson, a spiritual teacher, went to sedona when it was not a hub for seekers and trendies. People found their way to where he was...and the school he started is now a major teaching operation/ conference site and so Lester is indirectly responsible for something that is not what he went there for IP: Logged |

Sedona is my 'happy place', Ceri. It's where my mind goes when it's had enough. I'm always threatening to leave and go to an ashram in Sedona. I never would, but still. It's a kind of paradise on Earth. I love everything about it. IP: Logged |

God, why are we talking about Arizona? And Phoenix, and Flagstaff, and Sedona?Sorry. It's where he is. And, on top of everything, he is newly sans occupation. And clearly making another play to be in my life in some fashion. Head, meet desk. Repeat. So not doing this again. IP: Logged |

Aaaand, naturally, my SEDONA (157064) is on his MOON, with his on my SUN. That's just ... of bloody course. It's also rising 2° from the 12H on our composite, 1° from KARMA-DESTINN. Of course. We live there. In Sedona. I wouldn't live in Phoenix, and ... I never made it to LA. This timeline, the primary one I observe, never took shape that 3 July 2008. And what did led me there. ... Man, I hate thinking about that. Present, Auby. Present. Head in the game. IP: Logged |
