Many thanks to Seimei for introducing me to this topic. As I understand it, the HNN of a planet or asteroid is where its energy is most potent. See Dane Rudhyar: Orbital Astrology and the Nodes To locate asteroids: Asteroid Name Search To locate the HNN of asteroids: http://www.true-node.com/eph1/ Type asteroid number in the field to the left of "Comma-Delimited List of Names," click on Geocentric and scroll down to Heliocentric, check the box for "Show North Node," then click on "Get Ephemeris." The HNN appears in small letters at the bottom of the screen. ----

That's a good way of putting it!I think so. But also, I think the HNNs confer a vibe similar to, or even more profound than, the actual planet/asteroid's energy. So I'm wondering if conjunctions to a celestial body's HNN are more significant than conjunctions to the body itself. We'll only know, or be able to form educated guesses, by testing. IP: Logged |

na na , don't do that. Do you use firefox browser or icedragon. the ability to search jpl data base with highlight and right click is a nice tool for this/. here are a few more > just the numbers, it will load them all. Please bear with me, I'm a bit confused about the approach you're recommending. I'm on Firefox. Not sure what JPL is? *looking...found it* http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi ^ Typed in 4581 there and got Asclepius, but I can't find any astrological info. Back to www.true-node.com/eph1/ 4581, HNN 0.30 Libra But it didn't tell me that was Asclepius. Usually I get the name of the asteroid at true-node, but JPL is for back-up? Next on list: 671 CARNEGIA 0.44 Aries 7328 CASANOVA 0.47 Aries 1020 ARCADIA 0.57 Libra 1170 SIVA 1.08 Aries So, I see, you arranged them in 90-degree order, Aries points first. Wow! IP: Logged |

one thing at a time Please bear with me, I'm a bit confused about the approach you're recommending.I'm on Firefox okay one step at a time https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-to-search-bar/ the above addon at link allows you to right click inside any website search window and add it to your searchbar choices jet propulsion laboratories > the place where all the asteroid data is accumulated http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi#top just right click in the search window and select add to search bar If you were/are/do use the astro.com asteroid list and you right-clicked and opened on any number it would take yo to the jpl page for that asteroid. This tool allows you to do that from anywhere, just makes for easier research so after installing the little addon from mozila.org (ff) you can go there another way> just highlight and right-click with jpl selected & u would go there instead of say google or wiki. xuyi < right not I scroll over(make it blue) right click and in my drop down it says search jpl database and the page for asteroid xuyi opens in a new tab using truenode some named asteroids do not show name and if you ever use this page http://markandrewholmes.com/asteroid.html you know there are a lot of asteroids like 1992 QB1 , so this tool works whether using name, catalog number or its original designation. Over course you could also set your search bar on wiki if you were going to search wiki 20 times consecutively ------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

What you often find is how/why they named the asteroid. there are now thousands and thousands of asteroids that have been discovered,, jpl will sometime have info that is no where else, because that is the 1rst place the info is put regarding naming. for Aesculapius we can only resort to mythology and the research we have here on this site and other astro sites????? I started out using jpl because I searched hundreds of asteroids some percentage of which true node has not put name in their database and because JPL gives you date of discovery as well. Lately I have noticed JPL has increased effort to provide some info, info that has not made it anywhere else. astronomers can hardly keep up with tracking. I do believe in a universal mind that has a hand in naming them.------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

I have a Mercury-Uranus-Saturn t-square.I think I'm under a computer curse. I followed your instructions and everything was fine. I was told that the add-on was installed succesfully, and I could right click on JPL search engine and scroll down to "add to search bar." But then... "xuyi < right not I scroll over(make it blue) right click and in my drop down it says search jpl database" When I do that I see it hasn't added JPL. It just invites me to search wikipedia. I've tried to add JPL about five times and it doesn't work. That's alright...thanks anyway ETA: I hope others are more successful with it! If anyone's reading and following. IP: Logged |

Is any of the information at JPL presented in astrological terms? Or can you translate the astronomy into astrology? IP: Logged |

in some cases by the meaning giving in the discovery notes or by doing a discovery chart, midnight place of discovery but that requires you look up location of observatory. 2 in 1 here maybe??? what version of ff are you using? does your search bar window show list or the little icons in a box? sorry

I'm glad you told me about it. Sounds very handy and fun to use.I'm on Firefox 42.0. The Add-Ons page said that "Add to Search Bar" is often used with 6 other add-ons, none of which are available for Firefox 42.0. So I guess this one isn't either? Maybe next time I update Firefox I can get it to work. Thanks for answering about JPL, I love those discovery charts but haven't created any myself. I just take interest when others refer to or post them. IP: Logged |

nonono no no,, if you update it will never work, less they fix that again in 44 do this in a new tab type about:config the in the box at top paste this browser.search.showOneOffButtons Your should have a value of true, double click to change value to false and restart browser this will put a list instead of the icons in box, You will then be able to select whatever search before you search so the add to search bar toll if it installed as you read successfully should allow what we already discussed They made this change a while back, and version 42 is the last version where the user can change it to the old style. otherwise you would need to download icedragon which is a comodo version of firefox 42 OR you have another addon that is interfering/blocking that one in that case I have no solution for you but use icedragon ------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

Really appreciate your suggestions & patience! I'll expand on this thread later, I need to research more.... For now, I hope others will chime in with any thoughts about the asteroids' HNNs & whether you see any meaning in your life. (?) I have the HNN of Hyperborea on my (rectified) IC. That reiterates Hyperborea's prominence in my natal chart (conjunct my sun) and in synastry with key people in my life. HNN of 390 Alma conjunct my 5 Aqua Mercury. Possibly relates to my feeling that I need to communicate from a soul level. IP: Logged |

Don't forget the South Helio Node is always opposite. Also the personal sensitive points we use in geocentric astrology truly come from the astronomy of astrology. I often hear/read them referred to as simply as mathematical calculations and thus somehow unreal. I do not believe this to be the case. The equatorial ascendant is a line that reaches out and conjunctions or close squares(<1 degree) from Helio bodies longitude or its nodes draws in the energy of that body. ------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

Thanks for your interest. I think Alma relates to the soul. Sorry to be simplistic, but that's all I know. Alma's nodal axis squaring Venus... Would indicate that you love deeply, or struggle with love, or find yourself through your love nature? Trying to interpret that. Juno's HNN is very close to my Juno, which is at 19 Virgo. But I think the degrees need to be the same (?) IP: Logged |
