IF this interests you.

I have personally known of musicians who held the public stage {opera singers} for decades of their time. Not everyone 'makes it BIG'. Income can be feast-or-famine. You need good self-control and budgeting.

Also.. as a woman, know how to say NO .. to getting to the 'top' by giving sex as trade for advancement. .. don't. It lowers your value TO yourself. And, it can bite you, reputation-wise. Keep a clean soul--The people you will attract that way, will be more protecting. There ARE venues for that.

The musicians that I knew of would occasionally be in-between contracts.. and what put FOOD on their table is that they had OTHER skills.
One was trained by his father on how to do carpentry work. 'His hammer' is what KEPT food and paid his rent during slower times.
He also got a teaching-degree, and could teach music in a classroom, and could give private lessons.

Always have a BACK UP SKILL.
I understand you're going to go to college to learn something different from music. That's Good.
