I've been thinking about Dejanira recently (I have it in the 1st house) and to me I get the feeling it is somehow about creating a sort of frail space. If you take a place without it and then introduce that energy you find there seems to be more feeling of "spaciousness" however it seems not quite fleshed out fully. One example might be the Aurora Borealis. I get the sense of this propped up space type of effect and somehow I draw a correlation with Dejanira.

I've never paid much attention to Dejanira in my chart. It doesn't conjunct anything, and I've not been victim of much in my life. But I'm looking deeper into asteroids right now and thought 'why not'...

Dejanira at Tau 11.12
Sabian: A YOUNG COUPLE WINDOW-SHOPPING
- trine Moon at Vir 10.23
- sextile MC at Can 10.35 / trine IC at Cap 10.35

Asteroid conjunctions (within one degree):
- Bless at Tau 10.33
- Pygmalion at Tau 11.36

Assorted other aspects:
- square Polyhymnia at Leo 10.58
- square Soma at Leo 11.48
- trine Spirit at Vir 10.25
- trine Nostalgia at Vir 11.13
- opposite Wisdom at Sco 11.09
- trine Nike at Cap 10.41
- trine Lancelot at Cap 11.09
- trine Diana at Cap 12.10
- square Bandersnatch (monster from Alice in Wonderland) at Aqu 11.01

Mmm... Overall that doesn't look bad at all to me. Which fits with my experience I guess. The Moon trine, the conjunction with Bless and the almost exact aspects to Wisdom and Nostalgia make it look more bittersweet than just bitter.

I can't say that there has been any outright abuse in my life, but I was a bullied child and there were some traumatic patches that made me feel like a victim. Whenever I've been the victim I've come out if it stronger and wiser though.

I've been looking at Dejanira a bit as of recently. I haven't noticed any of my friends with it all that much aside from one. He has his Dejanira conjunct his Mercury in just under 3 degrees. I didn't make much of it since I don't know his life story since he doesn't share a lot about him. Also, I haven't seen much on Mercury Conjunct Dejanira. Then one day I was curious about people that have been through abusive situations and stuff. Many didn't have any Dejanira in their chart until I saw one celebrity that had the exact same Mercury Conjunct Dejanira at just under 3 degrees. Tina Turner has that aspect. If anyone knows the story between her and her husband Ike, then you probably know how bad the abuse was yeah. I suppose you can read about it here https://thegrapevine.theroot.com/a-life-defined-by-fear-tina-turner-details-even-more-a-1829633163

But yeah that is only one case so far with the conjunct to Mercury. Not sure what their synastry would be though as I haven't looked at Ike nor am I good with synastry charts yet.

Mercury/Deja may be a mind that thinks about victimization and maybe writes about it. They may or may not have been abused. I am not sure with Mercury.

Oh, by the way, my Dejanira Conjuncts my Moon within 2 degrees on my 2019 solar return which was back in September of this year. Is that something I should be worried about?

The Deja person would be submissive to the other person

And the Sun/moon midpoint person? How would it effect them? The Sun moon person's pluto is also in the mix

Thanks to this I have just realized that a man I know has sun square dejanira natally, and my venus also squares his dejanira (we have a venus-Sun opposition).

Any insights? It is the closest aspect we have (5 minutes) and the venus-sun opposition is also 6'. I am not sure about how to read a man's dejanira in synastry

The asteroid aspects have to be small like 1-2 in a square. In a Deja sq Venus in synastry, the Deja person could push aside his victim part but things do come out in one way or another. In the natal, it would be the same for that person--he would push away his victim side but it would come out

Hi Ami, big fan of your broad and accessible work on asteroids - so helpful and appreciated.

I was wondering how you would interpret Dejanira conjunct Venus/ Part of fortune in the natal chart?

Ceres is square to this too.

I notice a theme in my relationships where I am giving away more than receiving - I definitely am taken advantage of in one way or another.

Thank you. I love flattery so I am at your service

Deja conj Venus is not very good. I am very honest as you prolly know lol
This native seems to be the victim when it comes to love.
POF will help this out cuz it gives good fortune so maybe you see it before it gets too bad and you seem to be able to face it, which most people won't.

The Ceres square is not too big unless it is close to exact. If it were, it would be hard to show love to others when you are in love--like show unconditional love but my feeling is this is not the case for you.

I applaud your being able to face yourself

I have Dejanira at 22 Pis 4' and Moon at 18 Pis 57', is this too big of an orb for a conjunction?

It is wide but you may feel it. Do you relate to this asteroid?

My bf's ex has BPD. Natally she has dejanira conjunct moon and nessus square venus. She was the abuser and her Sado conj his MC, her mars opposite his prey. *but* his nessus conjunct her sun. Not sure what that could mean though, because he was never abusive to her.

in their composite: venus conjunct nemesis, venus opposite dejanira, sado square sun, casanova opposite venus..
