Asteroid Bacchus #2063, Dionysis #3671 and Pan #4450 are all known as the asteroids of the partier! These dudes were known for their physical appetites and indulging in their sensuality to the hilt. Satisfaction was a key component to the mythology of these rambunctious boys. Excess was the order of the day(s) and too much of a good thing was never enough for this lot. Bacchus was specifically known for his sexual appetites and love of drink and was also voted most likely to swing by his fourth grade class. This asteroid is known to show where we indulge thoughtlessly and too much. Bacchus on the ascendant or Sun or Mars can show a dedicated party animal and/or one who enjoys stimulants and other such powders, herbs and brews. Bacchus on the descendant can show one who attracts a promiscuous or wildish partner or who does not own or acknowledge their own inner rebel. Dionysis was the Greek God of ecstasy and is not often well understood in astrology. The placement of this asteroid denotes where we should let pleasure and excess in, where we can enjoy safely the things our mothers told us not to do. Righteous pleasure is an element here and letting ourselves enjoy that Calgon moment or that extra piece of pie are key to his proper expression. When we deny ourselves the things of Dionysis, we become a crabby ***** who needs to hook up with a boyfriend masseuse. Dionysis in aspect to Saturn can show someone who is apt to deny themselves enough or appropriate forms of pleasure or self spoiling. Pluto in aspect to Dionysis can show one who is abusive to themselves in their self denial or one who experiences all the pleasures of the world in secret or in shady ways. Dionysis with Jupiter is off the charts pleasure seeking. Dionysis with Venus is gorging oneself on beauty or art, Mars and Dionysis usually points to the ready ability to indulge in physical laments of this asteroid and can lend to selfishness. Pan is very much about honoring the realm of the senses. This was the natural man, the untamed human before rules or expectations were placed upon him to limit his expression. An earthy, wild, woodsy kind of energy flows with this asteroid and it has a hippyish vibe. Spontaneous, youthful, innocent and well meaning, there is an idealistic side to Pan. Pan asks us to just be ourselves in the birth chart and can point to where we want to throw off the chains of societal expectations and cultural conditioning. This is the energy of Woodstock. Where Pan shows up is where we need to be free to be authentic, honest and run with the wolves if the urge grabs us. IP: Logged |

I have valentine conjunct Bacchus and Pan! I do like the idea of "Free Love" a lot, mastering my jealousy (biological programming) to the point that I can be in a relationship were I looove without possessing the other, without needing to own the other. However its more an ideal, I don't live in a world that has social constructs which support this or were as humans we have evolved to the point that this ideal is feasible.I should add, I have Valentine conjunct MC,Bacchus and Pan opposing my BML on my IC! Ha well um. I have Bacchus conjunct my sun 😳 I'm not into drugs, but am hooked on coffee. And um they're in taurus, so... Yeah I like my earthy sexual pleasures. My buddy has Dionysus closely conjunct his natal Mars in Virgo. He gets really frustrated when he can't take action... And I suspect a lack of sex would really make him suffer (he has Scorpio sun, after all). His Dionysus is closely conjunct my Aphrodite, and my Dionysus is bang on his Vertex. Could be fun if we ever hook up 😏 My pan is in Gemini in my 4th house. I need to have free rein to express myself I guess. IP: Logged |

Hi Stellia, yes I don't think Bacchus is necessary a love for alcohol definitely that definition should be broad, I have it conjunct Valentine and Pan like I mentioned and I have never had a drinking problem in my life or an addiction problem of any kind.Perhaps you can accuse of me been in love with love or a love addict..lol IP: Logged |

I have Bacchus almost conjunct my Pluto. Not sure about that one yet, except that I am relentless about change and betterment. As for Pan, it's conjunct my Sun, and Eros. And Lilith. These descriptions are very spot on- I do feel I have to be authentic to myself, and I can't have impositions on that. As a result I choose to live far from family and their (well meaning) influences and wishes for me. I have a lot of passion in life, for many things.
All of this is in Cancer in the 8th house, opposite moon in Cap in 2nd. I struggle with my need to be myself and be free and my need to achieve success and show proof (to myself and others) of this success. Priapus is right on my Moon. It's complicated! IP: Logged |

Hoo-boy these ones are a doozy for me.- Dionysus is conjunct my Sun/Venus by 1 degree, which is also conjunct PoF, Pluto, Mercury and Lilith. - Bacchus is conjunct my Mercury/Lilith by 1 degree, as well as all the others. - Dionysus/Sun/Venus square my Jupiter by 1 degree. - Pan is sextile to Jupiter by 1 degree, and semi-sextile my Sun/Venus, etc. I have struggled with self-denial of pleasures and good things for a long time! I either indulge way too far, which in the past has ended up with great stories, but often a fair amount of embarrassment or, to a lesser degree, regret. On occasion it has also ended much worse. However I love a good party energy; I love going dancing, the feeling of being inebriated- especially as I feel so much more FREE than I ever do on the daily. I also have a knack for getting other people to let LOOSE when partying, and on the off chance they don't, it ends up being me who does. That being said, I'd love to learn to let out my Dionysian nature to a more healthy extent as I get older and more secure in myself and my self control. I also looooove sweet red wine IP: Logged |

i have bacchus square sun, pan sextile sun, and dionysus doing nothing other than chilling in leo a little too far away to be conjunct my mercury funny enough i answered a dionysus "calling dream" (my ex's words for it) while drunk a few years back just to see what would happen been an interesting ride edit: that all being said i've used plenty of drugs in excess, spent most of my life partying, place a lot of value on sex and fun etc IP: Logged |

I feel like these should be somewhere of note in my chart... While not sexual, or an addictive personality, I'm all about indulgence, decadence, sensual pleasure...Pan is in Cancer, 10th house. Inconjunct Uranus (3rd house Sag), quintile Libra Ascendant and closely conjunct True Black Moon Lilith. The Lilith conjunction looks interesting, but being asexual I'm not really sure how to interpret that. Lilith is usually described as so sexual. I'm all for that Pan energy though. Going against gender norms and the like... And my asexuality and aromanticism goes against all norms of sexuality and all the romantic norms of society, so who knows... maybe Pan has an influence there. Dionysus is on the cusp (0.01) of Virgo, 11th house. No aspects to planets or points. Interestingly it's conjunct Davidbowie exactly to the minute... Makemake is also on the same degree. Not sure what to make of that, but it looks lovely! ...until I uncovered an interesting mythological tie between Virgo and Dionysus. Dionysus apparently taught the art of wine making to some guy, who in generous fashion wanted to share his wine with his neighbours... who then killed him for poisoning them. His daugher Erigone committed suicide from grief, upon which Dionysus I guess felt bad about it and placed her in the sky as the constallation we know as Virgo. According to that particular myth at least... Virgo has several origin stories. Anyway, interesting that. Subtly warning me about the dangers of wine there...? Bacchus is at 21 degrees Virgo, 11th house. Sextile Mean Black Moon Lilith (Can 10th), Square Chiron (Gem 9th), trine Venus (Tau, 8th) and inconjunct Jupiter (Ari 7th), all of which are at 21 degrees of their own sign. This feels like a significant placement at least! I do like the 11th house placement, indulgence is best done in the company of friends, so it's very suitable! This string of pearls looks really lush and abundant, except for Chiron in there... but I guess every overindulgence has its punishments. Maybe it's there to keep me in check! IP: Logged |

OMG thanks so much for this insight on these asteroids! Bacchus is opposite my Moon (H8), however, otherwise it's really well aspected with trine PLUTO, sextile SUN, sextile NEPTUNE, sextile AC and trine MC. What do positive aspects mean in regards to Bacchus? I think Bacchus sextile Neptune might indicate that I am NOT prone to addiction even if I like to drink and party .. that's def the case for me! Dionysus and Bacchus square each other :S And Dionysus squares my Moon.. what would that sa about my feelings and/or my mother? Dionysus is in my 5th House which I love <3 IP: Logged |
