if i discovered an astroid i'd probably name it like poopy head or something sillyit seems like every astroid i've come accross so far has been deeply researched to give it a fitting name and each time it nailes it perfectly? do you know any examples where the name is the opposite of what it actually represents for example an astroid called peace that actually wreckes havoc on your life or some other astroid that's named based on a pun or something IP: Logged |

Hello, What I found is asteroids tend to be related to its meanings. Even there is a theory of using asteroids with names of men and women in the natal chart to see how this person (owner of the natal chart) it's related with others viewing an asteroid with the name of the person and its aspects to planets and other asteroids. By the other hand, when I use planets, asteroids and hypotethical points, when it is direct I use a group of meanings and when it is retrograde I use other group of meanings that are the opposite of meanings that I use when it planet (or asteroid or hypotethical point) is direct. For example, Venus is known as goddes of love, some of the meanings I use for this planet is love, so when its retrograde I use the meaning hate instead of love. For other reports, when Venus is direct I use the meaning hate and when it is retrograde I use the meaning love. So if the 'astro' is always related to its meanings, also it is related with its opposite meanings. IP: Logged |

I think that all asteroids have fitting names. and I don't think that all asteroids names have been deeply researched... Sometimes the right person who can give the right asteroid name (according to his close relations, family, or passions, interests), is asked to name an asteroid... So it's not a question of finding the right name of an asteroid, it's not unpredictable... In my opinion.IP: Logged |

I am not sure there is a lot of research that goes into naming asteroids. However, due to the magic of serendipity, the names given are always fitting. You could say that serendipity causes the right name to be attracted to the right asteroid, and vice versa... IP: Logged |
