I was in a store a few weeks ago and a necklace, literally, almost jumped off the shelf in my lap. It has a small garnet on the top and a quartz-tourmaline stone on the bottom. Certainly, I notice wonderful, magikal things happen when I wear it close to my heart (chakra). Does anyone know about these two stones in combination?

I also helped my dear friend to run his Crystal Light Healing Centre - and we had some marvellous experiences.

I have quite a collection of beautiful crystals of all shapes, sizes and colours... each one has a different personality and a different energy to impart, but can't quite remember what the dear garnet's properties are! It's a long time since I did this stuff!

I do remember that, for example, Rose Quartz is the 'healing stone of the heart' and also helps those with depression to overcome their state. Certain crystals, when used in conjunction with one others, act like amplifiers of energy and actually enhance each other's energies. (Just like people, really).

The key is to go for the crystal that 'calls out to you' - or the one to which you are most drawn... it will hit you in the gut like a ton of bricks and you won't be able to go home without it!!! When a crystal is chosen in this way, it has something which you need...

Have fun... they are a wonderful source of energy and learning...

There are loads of websites with crystals on, and some marvellous books. One of my favourites is by Katrina Raphael, called Crystal Enlightenment, I believe. Any book by her is a good guide as she is very intuitive and works with crystals every day.

Snowpea dearest... Bloodstone is usually used to strengthen the bloodflow - and energise the system... but also has many other qualities. Generally, if a stone makes you feel great, it's imparting something you need. If a stone drains your energy (like people!) don't use it!

This is a brilliant thread and will definitely get my brain working in that direction again...

Thank you both so much for your input so far. I agree, crystals have a lot of untapped energy, capable of healing and complimenting our own energy.

Sunjewel, I really enjoyed reading the articles on the URL you listed! They really went hand-in-hand with books I've read (or perhaps information I only remembered?) and people I've talked with.

Something else for everyone to think about... what are your thoughts on color therapy? I suppose this might go right along with quartz, light, energy etc. It seems the two are closely related.

Looking forward to hearing more of your wonderful thoughts!!!

Colour Therapy is marvellous... let me see if I can find some good books and websites on that for you....

There is a guy who is (I believe) in this very part of my world, Wales, called Theo Gimbel, who is a Master of Colour Therapy...

As you work with all these different energies, light, sound, colour, aromatherapy - you realise they are all intertwined and linked... JUST LIKE WE ARE, and just like the whole Universe is

Oh, this is a lovely, lively, mind opening string... I LOVE IT!

I am going to find a Blue Opal at the weekend! I already have half a ton of Rose Quartz... my special little dowsing pendulum is a pearshaped rose quartz... no wonder I get along so well with it!

I have, just very recently, been very strongly attracted to this subject... and wish I still had my beloved rock collection from my childhood - I LOVED rocks

I recently came upon a nice big piece of pyrite, really pretty, my son purchased as a souvineer in Mexico, when he was just 8 - I think he intuited that he needed the protection - he was with others but far from home and family ! ...I've just cleaned and recharged it

I have some little black stones called Apache Tears... does anyone know what they are or anything about their energies?

Stones went flying everywhere. I tried to find all the pieces so I could restring it...but they were EVERYWHERE
