glycolic acid :thumsbup:This helped my skin a LOT. Like pixie said, pH is HUGELY IMPORTANT. Can't stress that enough. If the pH of any product is too high, it won't help your skin.

pixel,Thanks for the response. I was using neostrata 4 pha gluconolactone formulation facial cleaner and neo strata 8 aha oily skin solution. within 3 days, my face looked like an oil slick. I guess maybe because I'm so used to using drying products. Maybe I'll try it again. My chin is covered with painful whiteheads. I hate adult acne! arg. ------------------ http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/6562/pchan_stockton.html IP: Logged |

Why are you using the gluconalactone?Use the one reccomended for acne. Gluconalactone is designed for DRY skin, not combination/acne. That might be your culprit there. Take it back to where you got it and ask why they would put you on something not designed for your skin type.. get your money back and reinvest it in what you need. The 4% Oil free gel. The texture will feel better to you as well.. it will feel squeeky clean but not tight. Works beautifully!!!! *shakes her head.. who is selling these products?* I wish I could personally help you. I'm glad you're giving it another try.Seriously, I am astounded.. who would sell you that particular product, and did they know what they were talking about? I hope to hear from you a week from now, saying how much you love these products. You will. Glad we got to the bottom of it. Be well. Love youself.

Pixie, I am happy to report that my skin has improved since getting to correct formulation for my skin. It's been about a week or so. I can't wait to see how good my face looks in a month. ------------------ http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/6562/pchan_stockton.html IP: Logged |

I agree with the recommendation for glycolic acid. My best had the same skin condition. She no longer had acne but the discoloration from previous acne made her feel that she couldn't be seen without makeup on her skin, and she was embarrassed about it. The light acid "peels" have 90% removed it and her skin now looks great, even without makeup!IP: Logged |

I was reminded recently, of sunscreen!!!!! I think we take it for granted....Aging is external factors and internal factors.... over 90% of 'aging' is external... as in, what you do, what you are exposed to. Sun damage takes ten years to show, and typical 'aging signs' are actually sun damage. Possibly you aren't concerned with aging, but your future self will be... and your future self is dictated by your present self... So I thought I'd leave a little note on this string to remind everyone to incorporate a sunscreen into their daily routine. Yes, the sun is our friend, but it has a temper. If you know this, then you arm yourself with a barrier..... The number one thing you can do is to add an SPF to your routine.. or choose products with one built in, for ease and incidental sun exposure... and take precautions for extended days out. And of course, check out elsewhere on this site for 'un-aging' or immortality. Keep your body able. Your friendly neighbourhood skin preacher.
