We all know veggies have to supplement B12. But there are amino acids that can only be obtained from meat: L-Taurine and L-carnitine. Do you supplement these? Does it bother you that the supplements must have been obtained from meat?------------------ And I will give thee the treasures of darkness Isiah 45:3 IP: Logged |

Nope. I don't worry about them. I make sure I have enough B-12, and I'm fine.Do companies invested in the meat industry fund the studies that insist we need components of meat in our diets? Do you worry about disinformation? ------------------ Everything feels possible. Perhaps more is possible than we think. -P.H. IP: Logged |

Maybe I put it wrongly. Perhaps I was pointing up a problem with vegetarians who also take amino acid supplements. The body manufactures these from other nutrients. For instance if you eat eggs, the body with synthesize taurine from the cystene in them. In times of extra stress, these mechanisms can be insufficient. Hence the practice in bygone times of feeding invalids beef tea etc.------------------ And I will give thee the treasures of darkness Isiah 45:3 IP: Logged |
