http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vagus_nerve Google Vagus Nerve disorders for more information. Body still trouble but have some new theories now as to what is wrong. Seems the spinal degeneration/damage, muscle and tendon scaring, and 100s of bone spurs pressing into nerves is giving me serious issues, and causing the agony, partial paralysis episodes, blindness episodes, torsion spams, etc. etc. etc.; and oddly my extremely agonizing IBS troubles. The main nerve being affected by the degeneration and scarring and all; appears to be the VAGUS NERVE. This seems to be what has caused my heart troubles too. Seems when the Vagus Nerve is messed up, it makes it seem that the body and organs are diseased. It could also explain how I can and do literally change from moment to moment betwixt OK and omg agony. And yes, even with healthy body otherwise; when the Vagus nerve is compromised, one can die, because the heart and gut, and lungs, you name it; can fail because the "electrical" connections betwixt them and brain is not working right. So was also told before by a few doctors; when I am nauseated, and get a dry heaves fit,(near every day) go for it. Seems I am literally re-setting or restarting my heart. Yes, self CPR. It is not a joke. And yeah I am still not doing well, but this gives me some ideas and maybe something can be done to keep my Vagus nerve from being as compromised. Having a diagnosis of sorts sure is better than, "gee we do not know" ------------------ ~The present time is theirs, but the future is mine.~Никола Тесла ~I remember, therefore I am immortal~LEXX }><}}}(*>~♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥~ IP: Logged |

Goodness, never heard of such! That's does sound like it could explain so much for you, what kind of treatment can you get Lexx? I really couldn't understand as to why one person could suffer with such a variety of issues but this diagnosis shows the stem of it all, so it makes sense for sure. (((hugs))) IP: Logged |

I need to study up on this. However yes, messed up Vagus nerve connections sure does make a lot of logical sense. So I will try in the next few months see a new neurologist, after I study up on this in more depth. Sure will still have the spinal damage and para spinal nerve damage and muscle and tendon scarring, but if somehow the compromising of the Vagus nerve can be fixed or managed, omg! To be able to live kind of normal again after nearly a 1/4 century to date, omg omg omg! It also gives me a clearer focus for working on healing myself.

Not knowing a diagnosis creates disjointed energy. Now that you know what it is, thought can be concentrated. I can see a cure forthcoming. IP: Logged |

Oh my gods yes! So many decades of clueless doctors calling me a medical enigma, pushing dozens of pills at me, tests after tests revealing nothing but that "something" is seriously wrong. That led to thinking I have MS, but only 90% indicated that. The 10% "we do not know", left me and doctors going wtf? The high blood sugar indicates Diabetes, however, it can be super high for a time and then normal, and back and forth. Well true Diabetes does not come and go, especially when one does nothing to affect it. Reflexology and Chiropractic stops the what appears to be Diabetic nerve damage, which means it is not Diabetic damage. So hopefully this Vagus nerve business is my ticket to getting better! quote: Vagus Nerve Damage Symptoms By Jessica Lietz, eHow Contributorupdated April 06, 2011 Print this article Vagus Nerve Damage Symptomsthumbnail Talk to your doctor if you experience severe back pain. The vagus nerve, also called the tenth cranial nerve, stretches from the brain through the abdomen. Branches from the vagus nerve innervate the brain, ear, tongue, pharynx, larnynx, heart, lungs and digestive organs. Symptoms of damage to the vagus nerve depend on the severity of the nerve damage, the location of the injury and whether nearby blood vessels are also affected. Related Searches: Health Symptoms Chronic Neck Pain Causes Vocal Changes Caused by Nerve Damage Damage to the vagus nerve can result in trouble with moving the tongue while speaking, or hoarseness of the voice if the branch leading to the larynx is damaged. Dysphagia Due to Nerve Damage The vagus nerve controls many muscles in the palate and tongue which, if damaged, can cause difficulty with swallowing (dysphagia). Changes in Gag Reflex The gag reflex is controlled by the vagus nerve, and damage may cause this reflex to be lost, which can increase the risk of choking on saliva or food. Hearing Loss Due to Nerve Damage Hearing loss may result from damage to the branch of the vagus nerve that innervates the concha of the ear. Cardiovascular Problems Due to Nerve Damage Damage to the vagus nerve can cause cardiovascular side effects, including irregular heartbeat and arrhythmia. Digestive Problems Due to Nerve Damage Damage to the vagus nerve may cause problems with contractions of the stomach and intestines, which can lead to constipation.

I will of course also see someone about my high blood sugar, and my severe sinus troubles, but want them to not just focus on that, which may not be the causes but be caused by the back injury/degeneration aggravating the Vagus nerve. Like my blood pressure, which they say is high, but then it is very low too. Runs betwixt 200/100 down to 96/41. So it confounds the doctors. How do you treat fluxuating blood pressure? Or sugar that jumps around betwixt 105 and 420 for no reason? quote: What Is Vagal Nerve Neuropathy? By Sonia Fernandez, eHow Contributor Print this article Its name comes from the Latin word for "wandering," and the vagal nerve, or vagus, is known as the rambler or the wanderer because of its extensive connections from the cranium to the rest of the body. With so many connections to different places, damage to or sickness of the vagal nerve can result in problems in one or several organs. Related Searches: Neuropathy Feet Vagus Nerve Injury What Is the Vagal Nerve? The vagal nerve is the 10th of 12 paired cranial nerves, located towards the back of the head. This nerve takes a long, winding route from the head down to the gut. While other nerves are relatively short, connecting with organs near and in the head, the vagal nerve is connected with structures from the larynx in the throat area to the kidneys and intestines. What Does the Vagal Nerve Do? The vagal nerve relays sensory messages and information between the brain and parts of the body ranging from ears and throat to heart, lungs and colon. Functions like heartbeat, speech and digestion are regulated by the vagal nerve. What Is Vagal Nerve Neuropathy? Vagal nerve neuropathy is a condition in which the nerve is damaged and is sending wrong or weak signals to and from the body and the brain. Since the vagal nerve is connected to so many different organs, manifestations of this neuropathy can include difficulty speaking, constant belching or coughing, nausea or irregular digestion or pulse. What Causes Vagal Nerve Neuropathy? The causes of vagal nerve neuropathy vary. Neuropathy can happen by way of upper respiratory infections or injury. One particular form of vagal nerve neuropathy happens as a result of type 2 diabetes. Just as elevated blood sugar results in loss of sensitivity and circulation in the extremities, the disease can also take its toll on the vagal nerve, which, among other things, is thought to play a part in the immune system. Alcoholism has also been found to contribute to vagal nerve neuropathy. A study in Spain involving several lifetime consumers of alcohol found correlations between alcoholism and difficulties breathing and moving, symptoms indicative of vagal nerve neuropathy. Is Vagal Nerve Neuropathy Reversible? Neuropathy of the vagal nerve can be reversed in many cases if the patient takes measures to eliminate the cause of the condition. Diabetics who control their blood sugar may regain normal function of the vagal nerve and all the organs it is connected to. Similarly, alcoholics who abstain or decrease their alcohol intake may regain properly functioning systems. Those recovering from severe upper respiratory illnesses will experience the same effect. In other cases, such as a cough that won't go away, the damage to the nerve creates a hypersensitivity that won't disappear. In this case, a physician will prescribe medications to reduce the sensitivity of the vagal nerve.

Well suffice it to say, I am rather excited by the possibility of getting better finally! I got things I want to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My TB scars, corneal scars, and reproductive scarring (very severe) have all mysteriously vanished. So here's to a better future of better health for this body! ------------------ ~The present time is theirs, but the future is mine.~Никола Тесла ~I remember, therefore I am immortal~LEXX }><}}}(*>~♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥~ IP: Logged |

Oh yeah, one more thing; The undiagnosed/mistaken diagnosis of Psoriasis, Eczema, and all, have let up a lot by mega does of vitamin C and Zinc. Seems I did indeed have a case of Scurvy! Will post scary pics of the befores and afters. My skin on legs and feet still looks mottled, so many years of it being so bloody cracked, swollen, raw, painfully sore etc., but omg, a few months of the vitamins, C-D-and Zinc and wow! Close to normal! IP: Logged |

Lexxie, When I read the above posts my first thought was: God doesn't give us more than we can handle. It seems it's in your (Reiki) hands now to become healthy again. As Randall says you can focus your energy on what you know is wrong and needs help. YAY! So excited on your behalf!! A diagnosis helps a lot. You will still have to educate some doctors (unfortunately) but, you know what, you will be ahead of the game already in terms of self-healing. I'm really excited for you!!

lexx, I`m thrilled you`re finding some help!! Interestingly, Thunder has vagus nerve damage and it is unclear rather the tumor damaged it or the other way around. MRI and CAT scans would be helpful in getting a diagnosis for you. The diabetes, muscle/nerve failure, high blood pressure and rapid heart beat are the symptoms of the adrenal tumor + vagus damage. There is a lot of misinformation re the nerve so use caution and here`s to your health!! ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

Oh yes, it will most likely be a struggle to get all the doctors on the same page, but this idea my chiropractor came up with Friday makes more sense than anything else in the past 23 to 39 years. Betwixt being permanently damaged some when struck by a car in 1973, then the industrial accident in 1989, then the degeneration and all, plus a few very bad illnesses, yet oddly nothing has completely added up despite all that. This just makes so much sense! So now to see a neurologist, an NT, and an endocrinologist. Of course the ob/gyn issues are still unresolved, but hopefully will get all resolved this year. Medicare is not the best, but at least it is something.

Thank you for caring and the good wishes! Sorry Thunder is having so many problems.{{{hugs}}} Yes, doctors have been wanting to do MRI's and a full body CAT for decades, but the fraking insurance companies keep refusing. Had a few head MRIs which have shown troubles. Going to try again to get some more answers. And yes, Adrenal tumor has been on the suspected list for me too for about 30 years. A benign type but still a tumor or an internal adhesion/keloid like scarring bundle. It is baffling how doctors do rarely try to fight the insurance companies and try to get them to approve tests. I may have more convincing ammunition now to get them to push for the tests. My life has been on fraking hold for too damn long. My 30s, 40, and most of my 50s to date, gone, near wasted, in daily misery with very little quality to my life. I know I have complained lots, but damn, it is not pleasant and feeling like I am dying every day does not engender much optimism. I WANT TO LIVE! I WANT TO WALK AND CLIMB STAIRS! I WANT TO MOVE BETTER THAN ALL THE OLD FOLKS I SEE TROTTING ABOUT BETTER THAN I DO! I WANT TO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT COLLAPSING IN PUBLIC, OR LOSS OF CONTROL OF BODY PROCESSES! I need to get better so I can see a productive future and a love life again! I WANT TO MAKE LOVE! I WANT TO DANCE AGAIN! I WANT TO RUN AGAIN! I WANT TO END MY BODY'S RECLUSE PRISON OF MOSTLY LIVING BETWIXT BED, CHAIR, BATHROOM! I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SIT ON COUCHES AND SOFT CHAIRS AGAIN WITHOUT GOING NUMB OR GETTING STUCK!LOL! YES I AM A WEE BIT MANIC AT THE MOMENT! Fingers crossed. Please please please let this be the start to things becoming better for me! ------------------ ~The present time is theirs, but the future is mine.~Никола Тесла ~I remember, therefore I am immortal~LEXX }><}}}(*>~♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥~
