I was able to locate an herb company online where I was able to make my own custom blend of the herbs recommended in Star Signs. They had all but one of the herbs. I'm a number 4, and the only one of my herbs they didn't have was medlars, so I just made a blend of all of the others. I figured I would still benefit. I didn't know if there were any specific ratios, so I just had all the ratios be even in mine. I intend to update everyone through this thread, in case anyone is curious about how they work. It's hard for me to figure out how to measure if they're working, and I assume that they work on the specific ailments unique to #4's, which seems to be mostly mental. Any physical issues are so closely tied to the mind for #4's that they disappear as soon as there's a shift in the mind and, therefore, the emotions. I'll list some physical things I'd like to see an improvement in. Nothing major, but I would notice a difference in my day to day life if these things were better. 1.) Fatigue 2.) Allergies 3.) Brain fog I'm starting the herbs today, so I'll be back with an update in a week or two. IP: Logged |

The update! So, only a few minutes after taking my first dose of the tincture, I felt a distinct sedating and calming effect. I was surprised at the potency of the herbs. I remembered that 4's are prone to hypertension and issues with the nervous system, so it made sense that the herbs would be calming. I had been experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety for a number of reasons, and it was rather persistent. I started the first week by taking my dose every other day instead of just twice a week since Star Signs advised to up the dose in cases of high stress and emotional disturbance. The second week I took just two doses, a few days apart. The first change I noticed was that I slept a lot better and had more motivation to wake up in the morning, which is saying a lot for the state I was in. The second thing was a general sense of peace and calm. A lot of my obsessive thinking went away, and I will say that I have a daily meditation and mindfulness practice already. Still, given that my state of anxiety was so high due to focus on some specific unresolved issues, the herbs have really made it so much easier to use my tools to shift my focus back to where I wanted it (peace and inspiration are some of the qualities I am manifesting in myself). The third thing I noticed was more of a tendency to process things in my immediate life through my dreams, whether circumstantial, emotional, or mental. I've also started to feel more in touch with my everyday life, living more in the present moment, and being authentic with others. I just wanted to make sure I state that the herbs aren't solving all of my problems, but they sure are making it a hell of a lot easier to move through some of these difficulties. So, to summarize in bullet points: * PEACE and CALM * Sleeping better * More dream processing/awareness of my immediate, present circumstances and emotions * It DID help with fatigue in that I've been more mentally alert * I haven't noticed a big difference where allergies are concerned, but we'll see. I'm mostly hoping for my sense of smell to get better since it's hasn't been as keen due to a constantly stuffed nose. I got mine from herbiesherbs.com. They are based in Canada, so I know this might not be an option for everyone. When I checked for online sources, this seemed to be the best option, but I'm sure there are other good ones out there. Just take as many of the herbs as you can find.
I like Herbie's Herbs because they let you: * Make your own custom blend tincture * Name your blend whatever you like (I named mine "Formula 4"), and they put it on the label for you * They have an option to put your own dosage instructions on the label (i.e., one tablespoon, twice a week) I hope people were able to benefit from this info. I may post more if I notice any further benefits/ side effects, but so far, this is already rocking my world. IP: Logged |

Hi PolkaDotJumper! The differences I listed above were the biggest ones. I think that overall it had calming effects on the nervous system and it aided in digestion. I think the biggest clue as to what the herbs do for you would be to look up their properties from a reputable source and also just notice what capacities become available to you when taking them. So, like, for me calming the nervous system led to me having more access to the good feelings I used to feel about my surroundings and life. One thing that I used to like about Linda’s books was that she made everything sound so magical and mysterious. These days I care more about making the magic happen and replicating it, so I do more research about the topics, which can feel less magical at first, but when you take ownership a different kind of magic tends to happen. Do let me know what you notice from Formula 6!! IP: Logged |

I’m the same way in that I tend to keep a spreadsheet and cross-reference properties. Most of the Formula 6 herbs help with lung health and inflammation, which is perfect since that’s one my problem areas since I was little. First, I gotta say the company that did the blends delivered in lightening speed! I was a bit worried about customs since this is my first time ordering from Canada to the US but there wasn’t any issues at all. So far this is my second week. I take 1 TB on Wed and Saturdays. Mood wise, I notice I almost instantly relax, especially the shoulders. It seems to help a little with general aggravation/tension and stress. Body wise, no ill effects - except a bit of phlegm, but considering it helps with the bronchial area, that’s to be expected. My main goal with taking it is to see how the formula helps with mood and keeping away the blues.

Good stuff, PolkaDot! Thank you for sharing.
I get the same tension release effect with my blend so I take mine before bed, otherwise I'm a little drowsy during the day. I noticed something else more recently about my blend. Some of the herbs are digestive and elimination aids. I've been learning about how the digestive system and the nervous system are directly connected. Keeping the digestive system healthy with plenty of good bacteria is a huge aid to mental health which is a main sore point for #4’s. Also, when I'm taking it close to that time of the month I notice I get more into my sexual energy for some reason. Maybe that's part of the affect on the nervous system and the ”elimination” properties of the herbs, which is a function of Pluto who also rules sexual energy. Since your formula is focused on lung health it should help with sadness and depression which lives in the lung and heart area. Keep me posted on any more updates! IP: Logged |
