Hi all, I wanted to ask the community if anyone has tried flower essence remedies (Bach or other lines) and what were your experiences. I've known about these for a long time and have only recently started taking an orchid blend essence. My experience is that I take a dropper full before bed and I have quite intense dreams ranging from vivid to nightmares, but always emotionally distinct. One of the orchids in the blend acts on the pineal gland so the dream aspect makes sense to me. IP: Logged |

This is super interesting. Thank you! I have no experience with these. I do use flora waters and essential oils. IP: Logged |

Update:I bought two Bach flower remedies - the Five Flower Formula and a Hornbeam essence. The Five Flower Formula has a distinct sedative effect on me. That is its purpose, to be calming during a crisis or emergency or panic/anxiety. I've used it for anxiety and it was very effective a few minutes after taking it. I was surprised because I was skeptical and haven't ever gotten that much peace and calm from using essential oils for the same purpose. They usually help a little, but only on the surface. So I've ruled out placebo effect. Flower essences work directly on an emotional level. I was taking the Five Flower formula during a period right before and during a process of finding one of my pet parakeets' babies dead in the nest and then trying to keep the other one alive for three days only to find it dead. (Apparently the parents stop feeding the babies sometimes...) That normally would have caused a lot of stress and anxiety, but the Flower formula seemed to allow me to let my grief flow through without any stress building up and blocking the flow and I otherwise remained quite calm. I have yet to really experiment with Hornbeam because the only time I took it I took the Five Flower shortly after and they actually have opposing effects, so not the best combination maybe. Hornbeam is supposed to be for focus and the will to start a task. A few minutes after taking it I felt an activation on my forehead between and above my brows. I will update here when I try it alone next. FYI, the Bach essences are traditionally made by cutting flower heads into a crystal bowl with water in it and leaving it out in the sun for about 3-4 hours. The heat is supposed to transfer the "essence" of the flower into the water. The tincture is made by adding at least 20% alcohol to keep bacteria from growing in the water. They can also be made with glycerin instead of alcohol. This description is meant to be an overview of the process to show that its composition is meant to hold the energetic "essence" rather than actual flower components. If you actually want to make them yourself I would recommend looking at the Bach flower remedies website. Don't use my description above, as there's more to the process. IP: Logged |

I used to use them a lot. I think they helped at times, and I've thought about trying them again, but money is an issue. I'm having to buy other supplements, for my dog as well. IP: Logged |

I've thought the same about cost, so I figured maybe start making some on my own with the flowers I have access to locally. I'll start a new thread for that if I ever do. IP: Logged |

Snake Lady, I've missed you! I really need to look into this further. I've been indulging in bathes these days. So soothing. I did receive roses and will try the petals in my water with these. Healing is very important right now and the botanical world is an incredible remedy for so much. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to look into these. IP: Logged |

Hi Moon!! I've missed you too. I haven't checked this section of LL for awhile. Rose petal baths are the absolute best. I also love herbal tea baths. I make a tea blend and fill up two reusable tea bags and put them in my bath. Not gonna lie though, one of them made me jump when it brushed up against my arm in the bath. LOL. I should probably tie them to the faucet. I'll ask Randall to share my email with you and feel free to email me if you want to keep in touch. Randall, whenever you see this, feel free to send my email to MoonMystic. Thank you very much! IP: Logged |

I've bathed in flower bulbs and petals! It's life changing. I don't mind mine being loose. It can be interesting what part of your body they want to float over. I've done roses, peonies, sephora. When I am done with a sachet, I dump it in my bath. I am willing to clean up the mess after. IP: Logged |

Hi Stawr! If the petals are big enough to not go down the drain I love having them loose too! IP: Logged |
