i never knew where to stand when it comes to the rapid movement of Globalization, so im gonna do what all lovely Librans do, a pros and cons list please add to the list what you think is necessary Pros: 1- Socially we have become more open and tolerant towards each other 2- we have ease of access to all kinds of information 3- we have easy access to an unlimited amount of products and services 4- as a result of (2) and (3) Productivity grows more quickly and thus living standards can go up faster. 5- people from all civilizations and communities are more aware of their basic rights and will be more capable of taking a stand against injustice. Cons: 1- losing some cultures/traditions/heritage 2- the overflow of unnecessary information from the media most of which is unreliable and not credible 3- the whole "Sweatshop" issue there are many more please add what you think should be included..

This Aquarius believes the cons outweigh the pros quote: Cons: 1- losing some cultures/traditions/heritage 2- the overflow of unnecessary information from the media most of which is unreliable and not credible 3- the whole "Sweatshop" issue

these cons are pretty serious issues, but we cant stop globalization if we wanted to..exhibit A: this website, it includes people from every corner of the world like it or not we are on the fast track to becoming one tiny little village ! the best thing would be to find ways to preserve different cultures, values, and norms.. as for sweatshops, consumers should have an open eye as to where, and how the items/services they purchase came to be.. now the media, its a lost cause if you ask me.. I think it's a natural progression for humanity. our entire evolution is based on our strive to communicate and connect with others. However we must be aware, imo, of communities that are lagging behind wether economically or technologically etc.. globalization works best if we all take part in it. IP: Logged |
