If anyone I ever knew was a non follower, rebel type - it would be me. I've been called an Enigma more times than I can count. That could be my Asc great attracter too. I can say a huge significance to me is AUTHENTICITY. When someone tells us to compromise our selves just so they can merit control or be devious. Whatever the reason, we revolt. Look around, the words we've heard repeatedly all year "I can't breathe"? Well when Aqua leaves, so does AIR supply. We are the highest of the Air and we bring water. That word authentic has another side /FAKE. Now if we are reduced to not be ourselves, what is that? FAKE. Aqua is said to be selfish ~ No, to be self loving and to go within to heal wounds is the way Budda would but the world would not refer to him as Selfish. (introspective) And yes to a degree we 'love the many' but everyone must remember some of these Aquarius descriptions are old world descriptions. We are In the NEW world now. Look to Aquas now for better insight there (or self if you carry that energy, or in some way are Pluto/Aqua powered). I have read Aqua is the smallest of quanity, by statistics, idk. If so, that could be another reason why the sign is unusual.
Going within is like most we looked to for inner knowing Buddha, Yeshua others. Aqua is before Pisces. Christ as a sign of the fish.. Maybe this is where we find our crowns and find we are the Christ figures in the many. Divinity within is all of us. Noone outshines another. Aquarius might be the first one to show it but they don't wish to be followed, heard ~ respected yes. but that should be for everyone of us beings!
