The phrase "the bee's knees", meaning "the height of excellence", became popular in the U.S. in the 1920s, along with "the cat's whiskers" (possibly from the use of these in radio crystal sets), "the cat's pajamas" (pajamas were still new enough to be daring), and similar phrases that didn't endure: "the eel's ankle", "the elephant's instep", "the snake's hip" and "the capybara's spats".

As a curious child,I can still hear my Granny telling me "it`s none of your bees wax missy".

Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

As a female, I've been obligated to explain myself for wearing dresses and skirts more than pants.

I feel like I give people the death stare when someone blurts out stuff like "I don't know how you're wearing that."

I remember as a kid in the 2000's it was NOT cool to wear a dress "just because." I remember a girl in my class wore a dress for no reason and a bunch of kids went up to her like "Why are you wearing that?" in a snotty tone. Or "Hey look I didn't know you could wear curtains"

I feel like it's starting to change. But lately I'm like why do I have to get treated like a freak of nature for wearing skirts and dresses more often?

I got crap from people at my old job for it from time to time.

Last week at my new job, I got "I don't know how you're sitting down in that skirt."
I tactfully educated her, but on the inside I was like "Are you serious? This skirt goes below my knees, and I KNOW HOW TO KEEP MY LEGS SHUT!!"

And then it was kind of cute and dumb when she said "did you have to always wear skirts at your old job?"

I wanted to blurt out "HELLO!! ONE DAY I WAS WEARING PANTS HERE!! (and another time long shorts! Teehee!")

I guess I kind of love and hate the reaction I get from people.

My inner Scorpio moon monologue is like "You are an idiot" "do you realize how dumb you sound?!"

But then my Aquarius Mars kind of loves shocking people like "Aww how cute you think I care? You think you can make self conscious and ashamed? Just wait!...I bet you can't wait for it to be winter, and think I'll stop! Nope, I'll just break out the leg warmers and fuzzy leggings! HahahaHA, in your face!"
It's fuel to the fire! I will bike in skirts now and be thinking "wow this feels good, how scandalous I am! That's right people I'm ridding a bike with a skirt on take that society!"

Having people makes comments can irritate me, but also makes me feel flattered that I am being "unique" and true to myself.
And my Leo IC likes being noticed too. I get positive attention too, and it's pretty funny when someone notices that I am wearing pants.

Not to sound like the millennial I am, but DRESS AND SKIRT SHAMING PEOPLE IS NOT COOL!
It's really not a good look, unless it's part of the job description to tell people what to wear.

Don't let anyone make you feel bad or self conscience if you feel like wearing dresses and skirts to work, school, or wherever.

I just really felt a need to vent, I've been keeping it to myself since my most recent comment is from a pretty nice lady, but yeah I was kind of ticked off by her comment.

Skirts make one look more feminine and attractive. Maybe where you work that kind of attention wouldn't be suitable. Is there a dress code etc, I wouldn't know. It is however annoying for a woman not being able to wear a dress or a long skirt.

Oh my.....not on me.
I was voted the ugliest legs in high school.
Kids can be cruel.
On the other hand;
never had/have legs anyone would want to see. Definitely not pretty or attractive,
