This happened almost a year ago. I wore a dress to go to go to the Suix Falls before. I could jump around on the rocks just fine. I was with my husband. We ran into his coworker and girlfriend. The girlfriend felt insecure that I was wearing a dress. But she wasn't mean about it. I had to put her at ease, because I was wearing a dress. I had to tell her that I got the dress for free (sister.) She made comments that she did not wear a dress for how active we are being. And then I jumped around on the rocks and ventured out the furthest. IP: Logged |

Should've told her it's not a dress, it's a kilt. IP: Logged |

I am a wee bit Scottish, which explains me temper when people inquire about me warrior kilts!

I wore a sweater dress to go shopping. Over the weekend. We stopped at Bass Pro Shop first. I get it, I did not look very outdoorsy. But it's like I'm shopping right now, I'm not going fishing right now. lolUgh...they have people in the stores pushing time shares. Well the lady commented that I am all dressed up. Kind of a compliment, kind of not. I just responded with "I just wanted to wear something black today", and left it at that cause I was on the rag. I'm on the road I've only packed 10 outfits with me. It's clean. It's black. But yeah...I was not feeling my look at all. I was super bloated. Sweater dresses are usually not forgiving for bloated times. I could of put my Spanx on...but I was already pretty uncomfortable since it was day 2 of my cycle. So I went with out. I did buy a black prairie dress at H&M that day with pops of bold color. Way more forgiving. I told my husband I wish I was wearing this dress right now instead. The next day, I wore something way more suitable for cycle day 3. It's like a smock style dress. Dark grey. Doesn't flaunt anything good or bad. My husband thinks its so ugly. I'm somewhat of a calculated mood dresser. So I feel like making that statement sometimes. Plus it has a daisy print in the middle very festive for botanical garden date. It's frumpy as heck. There was a reddit topic a while ago. Being asked why someone is wearing a dress. A couple benefit of the doubt comments for people who ask these things. Which would get responses like "but how hard is it to just tell someone they look nice or "I like your dress?"Anything other than things along that line, comments like "why are you wearing a dress" "who are you trying to look good for?" Kind of implies "who do you think you are?" IP: Logged |

quote: Originally posted by Stawr: Overall I like my coworkers here much better. But once in a while I'll get a mood swing with my fashion choices. One teacher could comment at my choices but it came from a place of security, because she dressed like Ms. Frizzle. It was more of a "breakin my balls" kind of like how guys do, it's light hearted. Probably cause I got nothin on her, and that's okay. XD She's a Taurus I wore a baret(sp?) outside in the fall. Taurus teacher "broke my balls" and referenced the Prince song. I sang in the halls "Cranberry baret" since it was dark red. But then Pisces teacher said "teachers are not suppose to be fashionable" Like really that's all I have to do is put a baret on my head and I'm a fashion snob. It's that easy? I understand this teacher better.
This teacher was "breaking my balls" again one day. I'm more of a color coordinating person than a "like with like" person. I had a white skirt on one day with black flower petal stitching on it. I paired them with my black biker boots. She said to me "Stawr I'm getting mixed messages from you! Your skirt says princess but your boots say biker chick!" She made me smile I probably said I put them on cause there is black in my skirt and I am a bit of this and that. Well I told my dad about it, and he joked and said "I am a princess, and if you forget it, I'll kick your @$$!" IP: Logged |
