Too bad the damn deer and groundhogs usually eat them all and even eat the leaves off the trees or bushes. Groundhogs and squirrels and grackles make a mess of Mulberry trees and fruit. They poop all over the place just like the deer. Also groundhogs can climb a 40 foot tall tree with no problem. I finally cut my Mulberry trees down even though I love Mulberries, because they attracted too much vermin. Also when birds eat Mulberries their poop turns into purple and red goo and they stain the house roof and crap all over the car and any laundry or lawn/yard furniture. Ugh. Oh yeah after eating Mulberries grackles will sometimes get in the house down the chimney and get chased by our cats and then the stupid birds poop purple goo everywhere. More ugh.
Oh indeed to the purple poop from mullberries. Birds sit on the antana and poop down the side of the house, vehicles and equipment. The coons leave mess`s everywhere then my dogs eat their purpley poop. Ugh. But I find the biggest purple poop offender is the turkey. They will silently roost in the tree and poop on me when gardening. Their poo is huge and so icky. Yet I love the berries so tolerate the poo. ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

Me too! I adore Cicadas! Most people confuse them with the destruction insect, the Locust; a species of grasshopper. Cicadas are not Locusts! http://www.hobbyfarms.com/cicadas-vs-locusts-know-the-difference/ People kill the gentle lovely Cicada because they think they are the destructive vermin Locust species of grasshopper. I love dragon flies and mosquito hawks too! and most butterflies and moths! Some beetles are cool too!IP: Logged |

Oh yes! Turkeys and purple poo! Ugh. We get up to 7 turkeys at a time but not too often fortunately. The grackles are the main purple pooers here. Ugh. Going to try and grow some bush type berries and cover them with nets. Then maybe we can eat the berries before the sh!ttytwits eat them and the squirrels and chipmunks and deer and groundhogs get to them.IP: Logged |

You've never seen purple poops? Be glad if you have not! It is really gross when they hit you with a big stinky wet slimy purple spat! Worse on your clothing where it can leave a permanent stain. Seriously ewwww!IP: Logged |

Have seen a dozen or so one time; but usually it is just a couple or up to several at a time. Also it seems more common here when they have hatch-lings and they follow the adults in a long line.IP: Logged |
