i got sidetracked lol but found this. The table below gives you the basic comparison of the astrologically best / worst match makers. They are based on the fact that you are a Cancer Rashi [Your Moon Sign at Birth] Male born in Pushya Nakshatra [Pada / Quarter: 2]. Assuming you were to marry a girl born in Ashwani Nakshatra in the first quarter / pada, your matching with that lady may be 31.5 out of 36 points as per Traditional Indian Astrological Match Making Principals as indicated on the right. You must also note the no. of dosha's that are affecting such a match. Aswini Pada / Qrtr: 1,2,3,4 1.0 1.0 1.5 3.0 4.0 6.0 7.0 8.0 31.5 0 Punarvasu Pada / Qrtr: 4 1.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 5.0 6.0 7.0 8.0 35.0 0

I go with Western for personality/appearance descriptions. There are other factors, angles and predictive matters, that Vedic is great for and I found studying it very valuable.

The nakshatras are the lunar mansions of the 27 consorts of the Lord Soma. Each goddess/consort has attributes and tonal attributes that can describe some part of your basic personality -- basically the inherited emotional makeup of the goddess whose house you were born into. It's like having an Aunt who you take after. Your primary nakshatra comes from your moon sign; but you can read each nakshatra of all of your placements and get an idea of how they work ; their personalities, basically. For example my moon sign is under Swati star; My lagna ( ascendant) cusp falls into Mula, which is not so auspicious. But when you read both together they are pretty much deadon descriptors of my inner and outer personality. IP: Logged |

Navamsha not only describes your life partner; it also describes the "shadow" side of your personality -- basically the hidden part of your psyche that makes your karma unfold exactly as your soul has instructed it to. Essentially we partner with our mirror images to some degree; and often your life partner will be accomplishing some essential function in your fate. For example if in navamsha you have an exalted planet; but in rasi it is debilitated, you may attract someone who is a better expresser of that energy and in this way you compliment each other. If you have no marriage partner, these soul instructions will still operate as if you do -- in other words, we all have *two* charts representing our outward, and then hidden ( more internal) destinies. Your Vedic chart starts with your sidereal ascendant. This is the first piece of the puzzle and it will be different from your western ascendant. Read the descriptions of your Lagna Rashi and then read the description of the nakshatra it falls in. This is the general tone of the personality and the life. Chandra sign, the moon, is the second-most important descriptor. This describes the inner world but is also a benefic and brings blessings according to the rashi and also to the areas of the house it resides in. Next is Lords in houses. Look first to see where the Lord of your first house is living in your chart. If your chart is correct, you'll find that the nature of the lagna lord, the rashi it falls under and its bhava placement are usually recurring themes in your life; or a repetitive environment in your life. For example; if your house lord is Jupiter and he is in the seventh house in Pisces, he is exalted -- perhaps giving an expansive and god-fearing spouse who fills your world. IP: Logged |
