Guess I skipped through the thread a little too quickly, and missed this post. That is absolutely incredible. IP: Logged |

Sooth The easiest way to have an OBE is to have a lucid dream and say "I want to fly",once you realize it IS dream. Then, you will go OBE, ime.------------------ What is Your Own Greek Myth? http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Thanks Ami The only problem is, learning to control what you are thinking, doing, or saying. I don't know how I could say "I want to fly" if I have no control over it. I have lucid dreams, where it feels real. I can smell, taste, and feel everything and it takes me almost an hour to realize that didn't actually happen, but I have no actual control. Their usually really short, like if I have a quick snooze or right before I actually wake up then it lasts maybe 10 minutes. I'm hoping I can learn to talk myself into a lucid dream cause then I should be able to actually do that. You are also a lot more receptive and intuitive than I am so your lucid dreams are probably a lot more, well, lucid than mine lol IP: Logged |

Well Sooth, learning to do OBE's is very hard and takes a lot of dedication because it is very different than anything on "this earth". You can do it but you must really, really WANT to.------------------ What is Your Own Greek Myth? http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Sooth, if you really want to, the best exercise is the "wake up in the middle of the night" one. I am doing it, now, so I can have them, again. I go through periods when I do have OBEs, regularly, and then have periods when I don't. I am still a little afraid of it. It feels really weird, going in to them. I still have resistance, often.

I do really want to lol. I have had extremely vivid dreams all of my life and over the last couple years, I've had a few lucid dreams. I need to just slowly practice and learn to be more relaxed and comfortable with it before I can, I know that already.I was wondering. I am not entirely sure what your view is on after life and spirits. Although I kind of assuming you believe in it. But twice after she passed away, I had two lucid dreams where I seen her. The first dream was following the night where I was talking with my boyfriend and his mother saying how badly I wished I could have said goodbye (for some reason I remember telling you this, sorry if I am repeating myself). That night I dreamed that my boyfriends mother brought her home in her car. It went so slowly and my heart was beating so fast. Eventually I met her in our laundry room, she was smiling but also crying. She gave me a big hug and said "goodbye" and I woke up practically crying. I get chills talking about it. The second one was after the night my boyfriend's mom told me she was a fantastic guitar player and had a beautiful singing voice. And I was saying how great it would have been to be able to hear her. During my lucid dream, I was sitting at the kitchen table with her and two of her daughters. Someone passed her a guitar and she started to play and sing and it was indeed beautiful. Definitely sounded like it was really her, despite the fact that I hadn't actually heard her sing or play. But I know her voice. Do you think it's possible that I really did see her/connect with her? Do you think if I actually were to start having OBE's I would be able to truly sit and talk with her? Or any loved one of mine that has passed? ** don't mean to hog your thread, I know you are trying to teach! **

Waking up in the middle of the night? That makes a lot of sense. You were saying in above posts to get up and exercise, or even go on the computer. Then just go back to sleep. What about getting up and having a shower or something? Does it really matter what you do? I will try doing this tonight. Go to sleep early (it is only about 6:30pm here right now) maybe 8 then try to get up around midnight and have a shower and read a book or something. Then go to sleep. Start with that see where it takes me. I already picked an apple as a symbol. I'm not sure what your take on using a symbol is but I definitely think it is worth a shot, good for comfort. My grandfather suggested this to me too. IP: Logged |

i wish i could do the lucid dreaming thing, but i dont even remember my dreams...i tried the getting up in the middle of the night thing, but i just didnt get tired enough to have an OBE...plus, with my schedule, i dont have the time to be able to get up in the middle of the night anymore------------------ I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |

Remembering dreams is the easy part. Before going to sleep, say aloud: "I will wake up when I have a dream." Keep a pen and paper nearby. When you wake up, jot down briefly what your dream was about. The next morning, reading your notes will bring back total recall. It's freaky how well this works!IP: Logged |

I love having dreams. I love the way they guide me. For a while I haven't been having any and I started missing them. So when I want to see dreams and m not seeing any (as far as i recall) then I focus on myself and my dreams and I tell myself "tonight I'm getting a guidance about this matter in my dream" and it has always worked ! we can always direct our conscious and subconscious mind we just need to know the right way! Randall This is not about OBE's but I had a dream, last night, that you showed me your mothers picture. I looked at it and remembered the face, I have never dreamed true. Well, everyone who wants to try this---All day say "Am I dreaming?"At night, you will say it IN your dream. Then, you will be lucid i.e be lucid dreaming. I will try it too. We can see what happens and get back and talk about it------------------ What is Your Own Greek Myth? http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I often OBE when folks I love are dying. Or injured or in surgery. I know before news gets to me as to when and what happened. I do not plan these "outings", they simply happen.I was in that tsunami in India via OBE a few years ago, Woke up drenched and screaming fighting to breathe, choking on and spewing salt water to boot. One of my more intense OBEs. "shudder". PS. Such has been happening to me for over 54 years to date. The most recent was last week, at a death visit OBE to someone dying and at their death. I have no idea how to teach how to OBE; I can only share some of my experiences. IP: Logged |

Yes, it is quite possible that you connected with her. I don't know what an OBE would add to the experience, but what you described sounds a lot like lucid dreaming to me. I too am able to connect with people I knew who died. The most touching was the case of a young girl I briefly became friends with when I was living in London. We were taking the same evening class and used to walk to the train together at night. She was sick (had lupus) and she often confided in me how scared and how lonely she was feeling. Her condition was so bad that every time we saw her, she seemed to have a new wound somewhere in her frail body. She was such a brave soul. One Nov or Dec night, while waiting for the train in the cold wind, we connected soul to soul. She was an absolutely beautiful person to get to know. That girl died that Xmas alone in her apartment. They found her dead. I saw her in a lucid dream all of a sudden several months later when I was living in the States. She was happy. She was extremely encouraging to me about something I couldn't quite understand. I think she and I might have flown together in that dream. I remember her saying to me "You can do it!". I woke up in a strange spot in my king-size bed. LOL It was an extremely happy dream, she was smiling and so full of joy. In real life, I never saw her so happy, she was so burdened by her illness. Sorry for hijacking this thread. Soothie, I truly believe those dreams of your grandma singing and hugging you were lucid dreams and that you truly did connect with her. IP: Logged |

anongrl10 Sad yet very Beautiful! Your experience could have been an OBE, her or you or both. Or a telepathic/empathic dream sharing. Or both!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream Lucid dreams involve the imaginary but the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming and so can influence the "story:. If it is actual communication with another/others; it would be a telepathic/empathic dream sharing and or OBE, or combination thereof. I think more folks dreamfast with others more often than they realize.IP: Logged |

Thank you, Lexxie It was a lucid dream no doubts about it. I remember knowing that I was dreaming! I hadn't heard from or about her in so long since her death and I had no reason to think of her that particular day. She simply met me "there", wherever that was. I remember how she was dressed and how glorious she looked. For a dead person that was pretty amazing! LOL

Anon LEXX took the words out of my mouth; sad yet beautiful. I am so sorry you lost such a wonderful friend, and to something so awful. I feel so much compassion for people that suffer that way. But the spiritual bond you have with her is truly amazing. So incredible. Almost brought a tear to my eye just reading your post! Gave me much hope, and I appreciate you going out of your way to respond to my question. Deep down I knew I did really connect with her. I actually get wiffs of her perfume every now and again, I've heard her laugh in the distance. Any time I broke down and sobbed after she passed I'd feel a warm presence wrap itself around me and literally took away my pain and dried my tears. Anyway, don't want to steer too far off topic. Thanks again, anon. You are such a sweetheart.
