Although I am not an expert in Tarot, having just a little experience regarding this fascinating divination art I do think some advices from what I have learned, heard and read about Tarot wouldnt be bad at all. As a beginner too I don’t expect to take my advices as a general rule or something. No, I just want to share some things I have noticed, learned. Useful things in my opinion. Therefore:1. Regarding the deck. For beginners, I have learned that the best for practice is the Classic Rider Waite Smith deck. When i started learning Tarot I thought I could do my practice with any type of deck since there were so many out on the market. I was wrong. The best way to learn Tarot is to use the classic deck. Any other deck will confuse you. I remember wating to do my practice on Crystal Visions Tarot. The artwork is fabulous, the deck is awesome but the images didnt send me any message. I felt… nothing. When I bought my Rider Waite deck I knew I could learn Tarot only with its help. And I wasnt wrong. That deck is the best for me. Suits me. Only after you feel you have gained enough knowledge you can choose the deck you like, the one you feel it suits you.
2. Take the cards and try to see what message the images delivers. You can study the interpretations from the text book but you need to have your own vision. Only this way your imagination and intuition can be developed.
3. In practice start with the basic and simpler spreads: One card and Three Cards. Doing advanced spreads will confuses you even more.
4. Don’t jump into reversals at least at the beginning of the study. I chose to not use them at all and even if I would have been an expert I wouldnt have use them either. Use them when you feel ready. Make your choice.
5. Don’t do readings when you are depressed, emotive, scared or tired. The cards feel your energy and the reading wont make sense or will go just wrong.
6. Start doing reading for yourself. Play with the cards. Don’t jump doing readings for others if you don’t feel ready for it.
7. Ask clear questions and ask people for whom you do readings to do so as well.
8. Don’t let anyone to touch your deck and cards when you are not doing the reading. The cards need to have only your energy. Otherwise they wont work.
9. Unleash your imagination and after a certain level of knowledge try to create your own spreads.
10. Have faith and confidence in yourself. Erate humanum est. Even if the cards answer is right and you make the interpretation wrong remember that you are just a beginner and that to be wrong is not a crime. In time wrong can be transformed in right.
