Hi everyone! I'm here as a teacher for the first time. Here is the first in a series of articles I have made focusing on aspects. All are copyrighted to me. I want to help others here learn how their aspects come out in their lives and how other patterns in their natal chart affect them.

Mars-Uranus: My way or the highway!

Mars-Uranus causes SPARKS in the natal chart, especially with a hard aspect. Uranian energy ignites at full-force or when the native needs to drawn upon it with Martian gunpowder.

Mars-Uranus people are difficult not to notice, but those with the less prominent Ptolemaic aspects may fall through the cracks until they need to draw upon this powerful, exhilarating and sometimes loose-canon aspect. One key issue for Mars-Uranus, especially with the SQUARE and OPPOSITION, is the often revered ideal, My way or the highway!

Mars-Uranus hard aspects can lead the native to struggle with needing to get their way, to assert their independence at all times, and to feel like they are fully in control of their own actions and destiny. Interference will NOT be tolerated. Anyone who stands in their way will, most likely, be pushed aside or shot down - and usually in a brutal spark of anger and terrorization, verbal or otherwise, if the rest of the chart allows it. This unexpected display of anger in defense of the native's possible loss of independence or a fear of their lives becoming 'mundane' or controlled can frighten and confuse others close to them.

Mars is our drive, so when Uranus touches upon it we have an action nature that can be, unpredictable, radical, rebellious and nonconformist, and sometimes, trouble making. As Uranus goes, we also have the unexpected that can be more damaging than cool - meaning, running in the rain and hail feeling quite invincible against being harmed by nature, only to slip on a patch of dry ice. And maybe, about a dozen times before that incident you had done the same thing, running in the ice and snow or bad weather without anything bad happening happening at all, being that lucky. But with Mars-Uranus, especially the harsh aspects, you really can be suddenly hit with the unthinkable accident that you never saw coming. Sometimes the luck runs out.

I advise those with the harsh aspect to NOT ride the 'invincible streak' that can be quite apparent and actually, quite real, because Uranus can literally turn the tables on Mars and make you have that nasty fall or accident you shrugged off before, thinking you were in the green and completely OK when danger was closer than you could sense.

The key lesson a Mars-Uranus person must learn is to how to integrate positive, consistent change in their lives with the advice and opinions of others. They must learn how to take these comments the right way, without considering such advice discreet sabotage. It's important to understand that with Mars-Uranus, we must learn not to become too combative when others are merely trying to help. Remember, that ordering is not the same as suggesting, and vice versa. Perhaps this is the hardest thing to learn for some Mars-Uranus people when they socialize and interact with others in their environment.

This kind of thing really helps me, as I do not have something like this in my own chart. I need to get behind the eyes of every aspect before I can understand it, such that I can use it. Thanks!

Thanks Frankie. It makes me very happy to know you could relate and thought it was accurate. Depending on the rest of the chart I can see that this would be possible. I have the opposition and with certain progressions and transits it seems that it's gotten worse at times for me too.

But what can be tricky with the square is that there is definite tension... that can be even more intense depending on the orb/tightness of it. I'm also curious to hear how it has worsened with age, since Uranian tension seems to absolve a little WITH age in many instances (i.e., one Aqua Mars person I know with Mars-Pluto opposition became less angry with age.)

What other aspects does your Uranus make? I imagine it'd be a little difficult to have it conjunct the ASC as well... I've never met anyone with it but my favorite singer Kurt Cobain had 1st house Uranus and I guess that is why he is also seen as such an intriguing person to many to this day.

My way or the highway... Hahahaha gosh I've had that said about me since I was 4. And it's usually because I believe my way to be the best/most efficient way of using time/energy/emotions.

I'm uber impatient, but I tend to make other people wait for me on a pretty regular basis, and although I feel slightly bad for it sometimes I usually just brush that off with the calming thought that anybody who knows me is used to it and I'm worth the wait

The last two paragraphs of your piece really resonate with how I see myself. Fearless because I'm invincible (roll over car accident broke my spine and I can still walk for instance) and the kicker for me was:

I've had a time struggling with this at work. I'm a manager and I do tend to bark orders when things are chaotic, but I have realized the difference between suggesting/asking VS ordering/commanding. I still catch myself from time to time, and I apologize if I come off sounding too harsh anymore. The other part though, about taking advice and opinions the right way... I don't take constructive criticism well. Because again, I usually believe (for good reason!) that the way I'm already doing something or feeling about something is the way it should be..

I have my Uranus in the 2nd conjunct Neptune and also, trine my Moon, sextile Venus, semi-square Saturn, trine MC. I also have 3 11th house planets...You can say I'm a rather Uranian person actually. No ASC aspects though.

Haha! I have a MERC/Uranus conj in 1st on top of my Sun/Moon midpoint & never made the Uranus/Mars connection there but am realizing that several boyfriends have had Uranus/Mars and other Uranian aspects. So stubborn & wild - lol!

I also have progressed Mars exactly opposite natal Uranus now - I love to drive faaaaast but am trying to be careful with my driving these days. I've been in many car accidents with only one mild fender bender ever being my fault. I also have Mars in 8th and seem prone to car accidents. Eek!

I had a very good friend with Uranus conj ASC. I loved her dearly & she wanted to do a business venture with me once but was so contrary and uncompromising she was IMPOSSIBLE to deal with so I finally had to bail before it destroyed our relationship!

I'm fairly mellow and more of a slow burn type (Sun in Libra, Mars in Taurus) but can definitely be high strung and pop off if I feel pressed. I hate being rushed or interfered with and like lots of space so I try to give it too. I have to keep my schedule fairly open b/c lots of unpredictable things tend to happen and no day is ever the same.

I think I'm very contrary with myself and change my mind constantly. When others do it with me it drives me NUTS & I'm realizing I likely due the same damn thing. I've learned to not say anything, just wait a minute and they'll come back around. ;}

I've also been mildly electrocuted several times (mostly when young) and I cannot wear watches as my body stuns them. My body also seems to break down and warp gold that is too soft as well as wear down plated things.

Chiropractic, acupuncture and massage and as well as vibrational medicine type devices always seem to work the best for me. I've heard Mars/Uranus can give healing touch/hands and sexuality and would definitely say that is true of my last two lovers with Mars Sq. Uranus. I think I have it also. We all have had a mix of Pluto and Uranus (magnetic & electric) and many lovers have said they love my massages or touch in general. All of my pets really seems to like being rubbed by me also - kitties included! ;}

I love driving fast! But I’m not reckless. I have had car accidents though, but small ones where I bumped the car mildly or badly. Only ones I had a traffic accident, it was when transit Mars was conj natal Mars and oppo natal uranus and it was because I was not paying. attention.
