Timing in tarot, is very difficult. Time is elusive. At best you can have a rough outline. I still struggle with timing, but i still throw out a timeline as a general guideline. If you google timing in tarot you get a whole bunch of time frames formulas. Just like every reader has their own unique way of interpreting the cards. Time frames are more or less guided by intuition. Example: Just like it takes one time to conceive a baby...figuring out when that time is, is hard. No matter how much you track ovulation you can still miss your fertile window and it may take months even years to conceive. My own personal general rule is... Wands are the fastest to happen Swords are the swiftest Cups are the third Pentacles are the last. Then you have to take the number on the card and the type. Major arcanas are usually what is happening right this very minute. Aces and court cards no matter the suit take action quite quickly. Its the middle cards, in my opinion that slow down the pace. Whatever is happening in the card usually tells you the mood and perhaps the season... The number on the top of the card... Can be added with all the others and divided by however many cards you have drawn... To give you a rough number/idea at what you are looking at... Its all very subjective. Its more or less how the cards speak to you and what your gut tells you. If you feel things will happen quickly then say so, if it doesnt thats ok too. Dont get too hung up on timing because you can loose perspective on a very small technical detail... Because you can never truly accurately predict or make someone do something if they are not ready. Salt is for energy cleaning. Any kind of salt is ok. U can get pretty special salt at whole foods or just plain table salt work just as good. It's good to clear your cards energy on a regular basis. And never let anyone else touch your cards to ramdomly play with, Unless of course you are doing a reading for them. It is appropriate for you to hand over your deck to them to shuffle the cards before you go ahead and deal the cards. Pentacles are physical energy. You have to work to earn coin. Think taurus/capricorn energy Cups are feelings, emotions, earth think scorpio/cancer/pisces, water energy Swords are swift action, mental energy. Think mercury/gemini, air energy Wands are fiery passion. Think leo/aries/sag, fire energy Dont get discouraged. Everyone has their own view of tarot. Just have fun and go with your intuition.

So ur a mod here? Woohoo! *claps*Good thread. I've never attempted time with tarot bc its tricky. Even when I do readings, I assume they go for at best a few weeks but that's all. Cuz I don't know any different. Would the actual question b a determining factor when trying to predict a time frame? Or does that matter? IP: Logged |

@shyvirgo1979,No. Just a Teacher I encourage you to apply aswell. You have great insights and you have helped me quite a bit on expanding my own tarot/astro knowledge. As for your question, i would think yes. You should try apply all the cards dealt to suit the question before expanding into more detail. Again, its intuition, if your knee jerk reaction is quick then say so... But if you have doubdts/hesitations then express that too. Lots of major arcanas/swords/wands together in one spread usually mean, altho not always, that something is approaching fast. @Randall, Thank you

ok I think I understand that. Abt the major arcana/swords/wands bit. 'Nother question. I'm not sure if I'm comprehending this right. If u pull more than one card for a reading, do u tally it up in a sense? I don't mean points wise. Just....like make a mental note of major arcana, then swords, etc...is that how u mean? And I'm too shy to b a teacher hence the name lol I don't know if I would have all the answers even tho I do have experience like u said. That was really sweet of u to say thanks! IP: Logged |

Yes. Exactly. My understanding is a major arcana and a sword card together looks like the moment is closer than originally anticipated. Again, depending on the type of major arcana... Some are a teeny tiny bit slowed down... Like the emperor for example. He likes to be in charge and altho the next card could indicate he may want to talk (swords) he maybe stubborn about it and it might be up to the querent to prod him a bit. Patience and persistance. And you are welcome. I Give credit where credit is due And no need to be shy...i dont have all the answers.. Far from it. But i have my own formulated opinions and when asked i gladly give my 2 cents. If you dont know, then you dont know and thats ok. We will search for an answer together. IP: Logged |

But before I do that I have a question, how many cards should one pull? One or more? If more than one then how many would you suggest?IP: Logged |

Novembermuse,You have to go with your gut on this one. The question is also key... Is it a long term or a short term question? But anywhere from 2/3 to 5/7 The more cards you pull the more complicated it get. Keep it simple and if you need more clarity pull an extra card or two. IP: Logged |
