Personally I think Jupiter is more likely to encourage sociopathic behaviour when it doesn't have challenging aspects. As Grant Lewi said, too many trines without squares is often a sign of a criminal in the making...because they get away with too much too easy. Hard aspects to jupiter may accentuate faults but also tend to create opportunities to "crash and burn" by overreach...ie, lessons to correct those excesses...IP: Logged |

What is the basis for stating that Jupiter Retrograde indicates a sociopath? Or are you saying Jupiter Retrograde with hard aspects indicates a sociopath?Or am I misunderstanding the reference to sociopathy? IP: Logged |

I never said that. I said that I have done the charts of 2 sociopaths who were for sure.
Each chart had every single planet in hard aspect to Jupiter except one. Two other sociopaths had 3-4 hard aspects to Jupiter.

Sorry I did not mean to imply that retrograde Jupiter was sociopathic. I have one myself and love it...my Jupiter is trine venus and sextile MC with no hard aspects, so I guess I might fit my suggested scenario but I think "suggested" is the operative word. In GENERAL too many trines and not enough ISSUES to grapple with could create someone with no morals...but not necessarily at all.I think Jupiter retrograde would likely be self-referring as far as conscience goes but that doesn't mean self-excusing! The Retros go deep into the planet and it's sphere. With Jupiter, that would be conscience and personal philosophies.
One needs to reflect on these things deeply with a Retro Jupiter. That is all I could say about it from my understanding of what Retro planets do.------------------

Probly right, there...for instance in progression my Jupiter despite going direct 25 years ago is still in basically the same spot it was nataly. So that small area of my chart has been emphasized all my life. A point os depth-study lolIP: Logged |

Yes, Cata, I, personally, like most of the Retros in my own chart. I did not wish for Chiron Retro but it makes one a deep person. The same goes for Saturn, Merc and Neptune Retro, which I have.I think, being a Gemini, you need balances for being too superficial. I have them with a Cancer Moon and these Retros, as well as Echo conj Saturn. These are force one inward. I would really hate to be as superficial as the sign of Gemini can be  ------------------

chiron retro sounds like a HUGE blessing...it means your chiron is self-referring, ie YOU can heal it without even needing outside help...it also underlines what i have been saying to you for years lol, the people who "embody' our aspects are really just hooks to help bring your issues to the surface. you may have thought i was trying to make you feel bad, as you have with many things i have said...but when we realize the power - and the wound - is within us is when we can start to turn ourselves and lives around. I agree, Ellyn, tho often I don't resonate with their interps, that one is v valid. I tend to see it as self- referring rather than introspective...I use my own barometer. Jupiter being in 12 conj AC means I rely not so much on thought as "feel"...can't always articulate why something feels right or wrong, but I heed the instinct anywayIP: Logged |

I have it too. Jupiter in Leo H4Typically Jupiter in the 4th interps always say what a great childhood the person had. Mine was awful. So I take retrogrades to mean the same or similar as do reversed cards in tarot. Now that I am thinking about it... family issues have been the biggest problems my whole life. 4th house issues... I also have Cancer IC, so it's like they drive me crazy but I love them all.

It's posited Fourth, but actually Conjunct the Fifth; so you would take both into account.(Read the Fifth.) Got a lot going on with the Moon that Ami would understand, and the Nadir is right on Sirius. Venus is out of bounds, and with the Sun is right on the Great Attractor. IP: Logged |

I have retrograde jupiter trine uranus, neptune, venus, asc.I think it means one finds one's values from within. My jupiter is clearly very happy but my sister has direct jupiter in cancer with only hard aspect to Libra sun, mars, virgo mercury, and opposite uranus, saturn, and neptune in Cap and she definitely has psychopathy *tendency* IP: Logged |
