Forgive me if this is already posted, but I want to know if it's necessary to adjust orbs on Astro.com or are the default settings OK to use for all charts? I've read posts on other sites that suggests users reduce orbs by 80%. ------------------ "Half of being smart is knowing what you're dumb at." - Solomon Short IP: Logged |

orbs can be quite contentious, but I tend to reduce the orb ratio down to 85% to bring in line with mainstream views..same with their transit forecast. I use 1' approaching, 1' exact and 1' departing, whereas astro uses 10' applying etc etc, which I think is ridiculous... In synastry it's important again to reduce the orb ratio down to 40% as max orb is 3' in synastry to... ------------------ I love the parable, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.” IP: Logged |

Thanks, SaggiMC. I'm starting to get the hang of what applying/strength and separating/weakness aspects mean, but adjusting orb size threw me for a loop. ------------------ "Half of being smart is knowing what you're dumb at." - Solomon Short

Hi DustyLibra, From what I've read on their site the default orbs are those preferred by astrologer Liz Greene. Typically the larger orbs are given to the luminaries. I've seen wide orbs work well with the Sun, so it's good to feel it out and see what works best for you IP: Logged |
